How do you use your foam gun?

I have developed my own foam gun system. I use the foam gun to presoak the car while I clean the wheels. Then before I start washing a section of the car I soak it again with the foam gun with the idea of having plenty of lubrication to cut down marring. I use the Optimum Car Wash in the foam gun and typically wash the car with Meguire's Gold Class. I love the Optimum Car wash so much that I might just switch to it entire once my entire supply of car washes is used up.

OK why use a foam gun?

Or a foam cannon?

Are you trying to save time..
I have made a solution to solve the problem of using a foam cannon and having to stop and switch guns to rinse.

Let me know if this helps you guys out.

How do you make that black plastic piece on the end stay on? I had to keep holding mine to keep it from flying off and hitting the car.

These are not my pics - I borrowed them from somebody else. But I have the exact same gun.

There's a clip that holds it into a groove on the lid connection part. You can't see it in this picture.

Can you please explain or show me a picture?

It's a small U shaped clip that goes through two holes on the black part and slips into the groove on the brass 'nipple" on the lid that the black part slides over.

I don't have any pics of it.

It's a compression clip or circle clip, you can see it on the outside of the tube here and on the inside you can see where it stick inward, sorry it's out of focus...

Since the clip is made out of spring steel it can flex, when you shove this over the brass fitting it slips into a groove to lock it onto the brass shaft. When you want to remove it you use a little muscle and pull the plastic tube off and the spring steel will expand and you can pull it off/over the groove it has sunk into.

:)

I think I've got it now. Thanks Mike! :dblthumb2:

Also, I'm curious, what is that little black plastic piece in the middle of this pic for? Not the foamer piece but the other little piece.

Sorry, I have the same question with my gun, what is the little black plastic clip thingo for??

if you pull the foam tip (lower long black piece) off, you can stick the little black piece on the end of the gun for fan spray.

I use it as a pre-soak before a regular wash....:props:
