    Removing Winter Salt From Carpet

Folex worked like a charm for me -- after trying Meg's Quick Out, Duragloss Fabric and Carpet, Blue Coral Foam. Folex removed 100% of my salt stains with ease, and appears to be 100% safe (instruction state to rub in with fingers).

    Microfiber towel packing suggestion

I think most assume/recommend "washing before using". The towels sitting on Target's shelf aren't very clean either. I can honestly saw that I don't wash them before using, but I should.

    The Dude...

According to a quick search yesterday, there were roughly 1500-2000 made in '70-'71. There's a website dedicated to them :)

    Can you sand vinyl?

I did it with great success -- except for the "touching" part. It won't be perfect, but it should help. Just don't get close enough to "brown" it. It will then be "toast". When you heat it, the raised, thin plastic will melt down, so the scratch is less noticeable. I found this tip from...

    The Dude...

Very cool! I have never seen nor heard of that package. It would be nice to have one -- along with a Lil' Red & Warlock. Of course a new R/T to complete the fleet...maybe an SRT10 in between.

    Can you sand vinyl?

Is it vinyl or hard plastic? For hard plastic, I learned a tip on the interwebs, that worked for me. Take a lighter, and hold it away from the scratch. Slowly move it close -- but not too close to scorch the plastic. I made the mistake of trying to smooth the scratch with my finger after...

    Safe alternitve for micro-fiber washing..

Any natural or "free" (from dyes, perfumes, etc.) laundry soap. Add distilled white vinegar to the rinse cycle. I've never used a "dedicated" wash.

Absorber XL for me. It has a slight waffle-weave pattern. Works excellent.

GG Speed Shine poor as clay lube?

^Humm, It wasn't just "me" then? That's exactly my experience with Mother's clay. It was horrible. I used over half the bottle on 2/3 of my car, but it still seemed like there wasn't enough "lube". Duragloss Fast Clean & Shine worked like a charm.

GG Speed Shine poor as clay lube?

Mine must be old then. I'll see if it has a date code. It doesn't smell very good. It did produce a nice gloss. I can still use it for bird bombs. The bottle itself is worth 50 cents. I also purchased Griots' spray nozzle.

What brand bug and tar remover?

clay? I always thought Tarminator was good. I also have Grime Destroyer, but have not tried it. For tar splattered across the bottom 1/4, clay is the easiest IMO.

    Which Business Name

Some "moms' might think you only detail Cougars...as in old Mercurys.

GG Speed Shine poor as clay lube?

Speed Shine is their QD. Maybe mine is too old, or it just doesn't like Mother's Clay?

    Which Business Name

I'm not sure about using the term "cougar" to detail a lot of "mom taxis" would be a good thing :). But then again, it could be!

GG Speed Shine poor as clay lube?

I've read a lot of good reviews for GG Speed Shine. Three years ago, I was tickled to find a brand-new, sealed bottle at a local garage sale for 50 cents! I have no idea how old it was, but when shook, it mixed fine. Fast-forward to last weekend, I was ready to crack the seal because I...

First Swirl Removing Experience with PC 7424XP

^ What Mike said + ditch the NXT2.0. It will fill/mask minor swirls, and they will be back after it wears off (which will be soon). After your correction, use a high-quality sealant, and refrain from touching the surface. Leave the dust on there until next wash. It will get dusty the very...
