What's best product to strip old wax and such to prep a car?

From my experience and readings, Dawn (or any other dish detergent) has been sufficient to strip wax. I remember learning this method from Zaino years ago and it's worked for me so I've stuck with it. I'm not sure if it'll remove Klasse Sealant Glaze, though....I think you have to use Klasee...

    It's a Kia..

I also used APC and it did help but it was soak with Folex that ended up finishing off the salt. It was only the 3rd time I used an extractor so I figured my technique needed more work but it's a relief to see I wasn't the only one who's had to fight with stubborn salt stains.

Which is better for rinseless wash & shine

:iagree: If there is a product that works for you, stick with it. I've been using Optimum for at least 5 years and I won't use anything else because it works for me.

    It's a Kia..

Did you have to go over them more than once? I had to extract 3 times to get the salt out of the black floor mats in my cousin's 135...and that's with a Mytee Lite. After the first 2 extractions, I let them air dry and the salt magically reappeared. :bash:

    Remove scratches on interior vinyl/plastic?

When I did my cousin's car, there were scuffs along the bottom of the interior door panel (from shoes) and the back of the front seats (from snowboards). I cleaned those spots like 3 or 4 times with at least 3 different products and the best I could do was to reduce the appearance. It was...

    Man...I'm In The Wrong Business!!!

Ouch. That is a pretty wicked dent. I'm also curious to know if he'll be able to get it back to normal. Maybe when he works the dent out it'll realign everything? :dunno:

    Man...I'm In The Wrong Business!!!

I think so? He had a variety of tools; I distinctly remember some odd L-shaped tool to reach in from the backside of the panel and he worked the metal back out to shape. He also had one or two mirrors set up on the body to make sure everything looked right. I'm sorry, it's been a while and my...

Which Detailer's(DP) products do you use?

Darn. If I knew there was an updated version coming out I wouldn't have bought that gallon refill a couple months ago. Still, the old formula I have works amazingly well....but I have to make sure I don't breath too deeply. I love that banana smell but too much of it makes me woozy.

First time with a DA: great results????

Nice work, magna_power. :xyxthumbs: I've seen people use their finger or a small piece of tape to focus. Another trick I found that works is: 1) Put your finger down on the surface 2) Push the shutter release half-way to lock the focus...it's that half-click you feel that makes the camera beep...

    Man...I'm In The Wrong Business!!!

6 or 7+ years ago, a watermelon slipped out of my mom's hands and landed on the rear quarter of her '00 TL and left a huge dent. A local PDR guy came to our work and took it out; he did such a good job you couldn't even tell there was any damage. I sat there slack-jawed in amazement watching...

:iagree: The late model E38s and E39s are easily the best looking 7 and 5 series, respectively...at least IMO. Great work as usual, Richy. :dblthumb2:
