I remember when I found out these had 399HP from the factory, I was shocked! What does he have done to this one? Great recovery on the car that thing needed your help!
This is the article that has unauthorized use of a photo from Todd Cooperider. Also a photo from Mike Phillips. There's a few other threads about this as well.

I'll have to keep that in mind when I work with mine (just got it Friday). Pipe insulation would be a good idea, I'd just be worried that it would have to be moved every time you wanted to disconnect it.
Omg that's crazy nasty! I bet the customer was ecstatic. Great turn around I love it when something horrible looks so good afterwards.

Looks great, I am a huge fan of light color cars with black rims. Please post pics of it when you polish it and also when you get more of your gear in it.
The taillights look aftermarket, any extra pics of those?
Or possible that you didn't work the polish all the way and as some abrasives were still being fractured you stopped which leaves micro marring behind.
Yeah, do you know if it's SS or BC/CC? Also try cleaning the white pad it sounds like it is gunked up and is not operating correctly.
Do you have access to any other softer pads aside from white?
As you already have, don't give up. Make sure you work the product in and work slow, let the machine do it all. Remember to use a light polish with a soft pad to finish.
Good luck, welcome and don't forget to post some pictures!
