Okay, so I decided to use Fixer polish on my PC. The car is in good condition with only some swirls and water spots, it's black too. I started out on the white pad, but it wouldn't really spin well because it would just compress as soon as I touched it on the paint. That was really annoying. Then I got an orange pad, and it worked nicely. I then finished with some WG FG on the white pad, and it worked as well. The whole thing looked great, but if you look real close you can still see where the buffer pad was. So now I am asking, how do I get rid of it? It's been driving me nuts!! :buffing:

P.S. It was dark out, so I couldn't get pictures. I'll get them up ASAP.

hopefully you're talking about a test spot and not the whole car...

Yeah, do you know if it's SS or BC/CC? Also try cleaning the white pad it sounds like it is gunked up and is not operating correctly.

Do you have access to any other softer pads aside from white?

Sounds to me like you may have been moving the polisher across the panel too fast (too fast of an arm speed) and not allowing the pad and product to efficiently do the work. Either that or you didn't wipe the polishing residue off as soon as you were done with your section passes and it dried on there or perhaps you overworked and got marks from running the pad dry on the paint.

Or possible that you didn't work the polish all the way and as some abrasives were still being fractured you stopped which leaves micro marring behind.

I have no clue. It was a test spot. It's 6 months old and definitely a bc/cc finish. In fact, none of my pads really work properly. I put the slightest amount of pressure on them they stop rotating. I line them up perfectly. I will take photos right now.

The pad was totally clean. No, softest I have is white. I want to get more though.

Sounds like you need a black pad and some 205 or see if Colorx takes care of it. Black honda paint is mushy, and there's no need to put an orange pad on it.

If I use anything more than a soft green LC pad, or anything stronger than 106FA I get marring on my black Highlander.

So if I have some corrections to make and use power finish or SIP, then a second step with a soft green or grey pad is needed.
