    New Car Prep

Agree with the rest, go with sonax polish instead if you intend to coat your car. It isn't as easy as many think to remove cleanly all wax and sealant solely base on shampoo, eraser or IPA.

Socket Convertor for GG 6" ROP

Plug wise is a simple fix. Either use a socket adaptor or change the plug with correct live and neutral wire. More importantly is you need a voltage converter that able to manage the wattage of GG6 (probably 1000w or more) and convert from 110v to 220v.

    Specs in buying DA

Philippines uses 220v so personally i wouldnt go for porter cable or griot garage due to hassle of changing voltage. You can consider Das pro or tons of similar but re-badge model. Shine mate has a wide range of model- ERO600, EX603, EX605, EX610 (15 &21mm). ERO600 is more PC alike but with a...

Griot's Low Profile Pads or LC ThinPro for BOSS

Foam performance aside, Griot's boss pad has the best design imo. The hole at the center prevent the center from collapsing. The edge of the pad also doesnt shed as easy after pre-long use.

    Invaluable Tools For Interiors

Autoglym hi-tech interior hand pad is by far my favourite among all the brushes and scrub pads/sponge I have. It looks similarly like a scrub pad but doesnt feel abit coarse at all. Unfortunately, they aint popular and i believe they had discontinued the item a few years back.

    2 part coatings

I am not sure the reason for a 2 part coating for your mentioned brand. However, as mentioned by jrs1418, some brands I knew of uses a 2 coat system simply because the base coat offer all the hardness and shine but perform less ideally with beading. The top coat is then forumlated to provide...

    New Menzerna polishes

I used both rotary and DA. Used it with flex 3401, Rupes bigfoot 21mm and many other DAs that aint popular in the US and UK. Unlike many, I ended up selling all my flex and rupes and now mainly use a small orbit modified DA such as one with 3mm. I also tested it B&S flat, LC thinpro, HD Orbital...

    New Menzerna polishes

I used to use PG1000 and now FG400 and SC300. FG400 is alot easier to work with and it seems like a more re-fined product. At least based on the way i use it, FG400 produces a better finish. One interesting observation is a bottle of PG1000 is actually 10-20% heavier than FG400 and I always...

    Which polisher to invest on?

Since you are doing re-finishing type of detailing work, i will suggest to go for a DA mainly because you already have a rotary. Similar to many who do this for a living, we are always pursuing how to get result in the shortest time. Not saying that rotary cant achieve the result you desire...

    Which polisher to invest on?

What are you mainly working on? Do you need to cut heavy defects or sanding marks all day long or are you trying to achieve hologram free most of the time? If I am required to remove heavy sanding marks day in day out, a lighter rotary makes more sense to me as I find it more efficient in...

Best foam pads for cutting and polishing with a rotary

Based on your description, it seems like you are trying to achieve too much in 1 step. It is hard enough to finish hologram free with polishing pad on soft clearcoat or cutting pad on medium clearcoat, let alone using a cutting pad. So if 2 steps is needed, might as well use a wool pad to remove...

    School me on pre-wax cleaners!

The way i see pre-wax cleaners is its meant to use before applying any wax/sealant/coating, yet can be very different type of product depending how it is market. Some coy market a cleaner wax or glaze (with abrasive and wax within) as pre-wax cleaner as it cleans and fill pores before the wax...

POLL - What's the number one most important factor when it comes to polishing paint?

When I think of polishing paint, I see it as basically rubbing abrasive using a tool with a pad on the surface. This is how I view the 5 factors: Technique- IMO, technique mainly consist of priming of pad, tool speed, arm buffing speed motion, buffing pressure and buffing duration. I think...

POLL - What's the number one most important factor when it comes to polishing paint?

My humble opinion.. Paint and abrasive technology are probably more critical than the rest. Techniques and tools can be learnt or adjusted with different situation. Pads is important but it is aint as sensitive as abrasive. A tweak of techniques such as pressure or buffing speed can help to...

Lake Country ThinPro Foam Buffing Pads exclusively at Autogeek

IMO, the surface of the pad does all the work so in terms of cleaning, shouldnt makes any difference. The size are really optimal with DA. If they punch a 1.5cm hole in the center, my guess is the pad may works even better.

Flex 3401 vs 4inch backing plate system carnage

I had the exact same issue with not 1 but 2 pieces of the 4 inch plate- broke in the center. By the way, there was no instruction at all in the package so we install the plate to our best ability which is similar to what Angus posted. Maybe user error, maybe heat, maybe bad batch but whatever...

Looking for some feedback on Menzerna super cut

Definitely a heavy gun. Tried it with hybrid blue wool and rotary on a medium hardness paint and require 2 more steps to remove holograms- at least for my technique. Having said that, definitely a good to have compound in times when you wish you have more cuts with FG400.

    Brushes

This is the vikan brush. Very durable and the bristle is soft enough for wheel well. I have been using for 1 year plus with regular use and it still maintain its shape. The top part/head where it holds the bristle is made of rubber, a feature you probably will appreciate when you try squeezing...
