New Menzerna polishes

Would be nice if they would stop renaming their products every 2 years.

Oh and just get fg400, sf4000 and sf4500....its all you really need. Just change what kind of pad to use with fg400 to reduce or increase cut.

No need for both 4000 and 4500, either one will do. FG400/SF4000 is all one really needs from the Menzerna range.

For me SF4500 is reserved for extracting the maximum amount of gloss from a panel after being properly polished out with SF4000.

I sometimes like to jewel with the PE14, SF4500, and a black Hybrid pad.

How are you using the finishing polishes? I.e. tool, tool speed, pads, section passes, etc.

I used both rotary and DA. Used it with flex 3401, Rupes bigfoot 21mm and many other DAs that aint popular in the US and UK. Unlike many, I ended up selling all my flex and rupes and now mainly use a small orbit modified DA such as one with 3mm. I also tested it B&S flat, LC thinpro, HD Orbital, Griot garage Boss pad, Meguiars DA disc, korean pads, japanese pads and many more actually.

For Menzerna, I tend to add heavy pressure for the first few passes, then release pressure and buff to high gloss- I find using it as such gets me the most cut and breaks down the polish quick.

Dont get me wrong, SF4000 is a great polish- it cuts well for a finishing polish and finishes exceptionally well. Apart from struggling with super soft clear coat (could be my technique), it is also extremely consistent in performance as you can use the same methodology and just change a different pad to tackle most paint condition. I also got a gut feeling they design the long working time probably due to it being more suitable to cut ceramic/ powered clear coat.

However.... after comparing other finishing polishes, I think others could get similar result faster...

I would humbly add the 2500, probably the one I use it most, especially as an AIO for soft to medium clearcoats with light to moderate swirls.

i was planning on getting the fg400 and sf-3500 for my black corvette. Hope I'm happy!!!

This is the way to get them to work effectively with consistent results.

One thing to note is the Menzerna finishing polishes need to run at a faster tool speed such as 5-6 to really break them down. This is somewhat opposite of the norm as finishing polishes tend to run at a slower speed while Menzerna's like a faster speed.

That's another great option for effective one step polishing results. :xyxthumbs:

Let us know how it goes. What machine and pads will you be using?

With the exception of SC300 and FG400, the other Menzerns polishes are pretty dated. You can get as good as results(or better) with other brand polishes, and faster. FG400 is easily their best product, IMO.
