Why are my 6.5" CCS pads collapsing in the middle?

Thanks Rocket. I've also been wringing them out by twisting them pretty hard after washing. Could this also be causing the prob? If so, whats the best way to dry them?

Why are my 6.5" CCS pads collapsing in the middle?

They are Orange pads used with a PC. The middle is collapsed and makes the pad look concave. Are they ok to use like this? Am I applying too much pressure?

Menzerna SIP as a one step?

Did the same thing again yesterday on my mother in laws Honda Element covered in swirls. The paint is that dark rusty orange color. Did the whole car with SIP and a orange pad with my friends help. Car came out beautiful, but this time I wanted to follow with 106fa to see if it made any...

    I am going Wax Insane

I hear you SoCal, I have a 1 and 2yr old so I focused my research on the most durable sealant. From what I've read, Collonite is the ticket. I think it looks fantastic, but the pro's here definately feel that other waxes have a deeper wetter look.

    I am going Wax Insane

This is after about 5 weeks, 3 car washes and 2 rainy days. I drive about 100 miles a day. The car is parked at night in a garage. No qd or anything. Still feels slick as snot. From what I've read, it should go many months.

    I am going Wax Insane

I was in the same position a few months ago and spent weeks and weeks reading here and autopia. Collinite 476 seemed to come up the most often for durability. Some people say that other waxes look better but there are no arguments that it is incredibly durable. It also beads water like...

ONR only for the winter weather guys?

I live in warm Southern California and have always enjoyed traditional hose and rinse car washing. I recently learned about ONR and started reading up on it here. Seems like the main advantage is being able to use it in your garage for those cold seasons. I've been leaning toward getting a...

    Collinite 476...WOW!

    Shamwow!

I saw a live demo of that at the mall the other day and it really does soak up liquids well. It's just not good for drying cars.

    Shamwow!

My guzzler puts the shamwow to shame, but I have to say that it actually holds alot of water and is very easy to wring most of it out for the next use. Just a light twist remove most of the water it holds. It's terrible for drying the car since it leaves behind a lot of water, but it's great...

    Shamwow!

My buddy bought a couple at the auto show and we were curious to see if they worked as advertised. Pretty useless for drying the car. They actually hold a lot of water, but also leave alot behind. It just seemed to smear the water around.

Menzerna SIP as a one step?

Thanks builthatch, it's good to know that there is nothing wrong with our vision. We were both blown away at the finish. Perhaps a trained eye under perfect lighting could show us why we would need to finish polish, but he was so incredibly happy, he didn't want to do another step. I guess...

Menzerna SIP as a one step?

Yeah...after all the reading that I've done here, I was sure we would need to follow up with 106fa. It's amazing that we couldn't find any reason use a finishing polish. Maybe the flourescent and halogen lighting aren't good enough to show the micro marring.

Menzerna SIP as a one step?

I asked him to call me if he notices anything and he hasn't called so I guess sip is a one step as far as he is concerned.

Menzerna SIP as a one step?

Thats what I heard....We just couldn't see the micro marring. I guess we'll have to take a better look at it in the sun.

Menzerna SIP as a one step?

I tried sip for the first time yesterday on a friends black dodge magnum. The car is 2yrs old and had a fair amount of swirls. PC and a LC orange pad easily removed the swirls and left a great finish. I expected I would have to follow up with 106fa, but we could not see any reason to do the...
