you need an enzyme cleaner for the fish smell. go to a petstore and look for an enzymatic odor elminator that they use for pet urine and odors. the enzymes will break down the proteins which the smell is coming from.

get your winshield tinted. I have a tint called Air80 on my windshield, it's pretty much clear, you can't tell the difference but it helps to reject heat and glare. I think it is made by llumar and is specifically made for windshields.

don't leave it in there too long. I've seen pads grow mold in as little as a week. I don't think one day will do any damage though.

I use the Intensive Polish and it does dust. I've seen worse but it's enough to make it an extra step in the process.

I got that 6 pack of proforce ones from sam's club. Great bargain, comes out to only a little more then $1 each. They are large and hold a lot, has a pretty robust sprayer, I haven't broken one yet. It also comes with one foaming nozzle which is good for carpet treatments.

I tried washing my foam pad I use for BFWD and nothing seems to get it out. I can get it to congeal and and squeeze it out from the pores but it still won't come out like new. There is always some stuff remaining. I'll have to get one of those mini plastic drawer organizers for my pads I guess.

I use DP xtreme too, seems like a popular choice.

I've noticed the Pinnacle clay is very fine, it won't remove a lot of contaminants. I'll only use it if the paint is basically clean to start off with. If there's noticeable contaminants then I'd go with a heavier cut clay.
