I used 2,700 psi when detailing professionally but now use 1,800 psi electric at home. I would gauge my distance with 25 degree tip on the 2,700 and had great performance with it. 1,800 feels like a plastic toy.

So would it be correct to say that Meg's MF pads aren't meant for long throws since they suggested the use with their DA?

I'm assuming a thinner foam interface would be better for cutting and a pad with a thicker foam interface would be better for finishing. Does this make sense? Your thoughts? If this is the case, should I just stick to all foam finishing pads?

Yeah, maybe you can wait a few weeks and save up some money or something to get a DA and better polish. These tools will last and you're eliminating the risk of mistakes with a tool you've never used. Plus, most professionals are not even using rotary anymore. DAs have improved sooooo much...
