been going through this thread....just used Dr CC for the first time on monday for a very tiny chip on my car. Color matches and i've gone through about 3 coats over the last 4 days. and still can't seem to get it level. Its tough to notice due to the size and its now filled in with color....but...

added 1 more coat. still didn't fill it all the way. but before....Imgur and now after: Imgur i guess its better.

Mine is small but didn't notice matte finish. I have metallic paint

Ok so I've used dcc on my car and it's great My question is about expectations and when to stop trying to Get the repair perfect I applied the first coat two days ago and thought it was good But if I looked closely I could still see the outline of the chip Guess it's not perfectly level...

so i guess I'm going to quit while I'm ahead. i must admit the ease of use for this kit makes always temping to think you can do better. But i did add another coat when i got home. waited about 5 mins. and admittedly my garage lighting isn't the best...but also used a flash light...and while...

its tough I think it looks pretty good now. Wonder it messing with it too much might make it look worse

So no prep just add more paint then? Is ok to have waited a day in between

Finally got my dcc kit and it worked as advertised Quick question after using it last night This morning I think I should add another layer of paint Do I need to prep the repaired spot again Using rubbing alcohol? Will that mess up the already repaired spot? Thanks

with the chip seemingly only down to primer (white) should i not be worrying about rust? the DCC kit i order should be here in a few days. thats why i was thinking about using the OEM stuff. also for the DCC kit, does it come with a cleaner or should i be using something like rubbing alcohol in...

so the OEM paint stick came today. Dr color chip is still a few days away...should i wait ?

i was worried a little about Dr color chip not matching the OEM color.....also a little bit about the solvent you use after to get rid of excess paint. does that not do anything to the other paint around it?
