Why is it so hard to dry my car?

I've noticed that the temperature seems to have a lot to do with it. If it is cold the water seems to stick much more than when it is warm. When it is warm most of water can be driven off with the hose, but when it gets cold it takes a lot more drying with the towel. I am using a detail spray...

FitBit is an amazing detail tool....

You set your stride on fitbit.com. I run with a GPS tracker and my fitbit and the accuracy after setting my running stride is +/- 1%. The little device tied to the loseit app helped motivate me to lose 30 lbs last year and keep it off the last 6 months.

    Car lift

One of the other advantages of my 4 post lift is that I have two rolling jacks. When I clean and coat the wheels I just remove them which allows me complete access to the barrels and allows me to do a very thorough job without having to reach though the face. Once you have a lift you may find...

    Car lift

Yes. I have a 4 post lift. It makes the job much easier. I put the lift in to maintain my vehicles mechanically, but it is great for detailing.

PBL DIAMOND SURFACE COATING.. Can it be topped

I put PBL sealant over PBL coating at the suggestion of Nick for longevity. I did it over Thanksgiving so it is too hard to tell about longevity, but the hope is to minimize what I need to do on her SUV other than wash it. That leaves me more time to work on my baby rather than hers.

Well, it was fun while it lasted...

Wait till they do a "complete detailing package" with scratchdini and new wipe.

Well, it was fun while it lasted...

But wait there is more. Sorry had to say that. I'm shocked that it doesn't work. Oh, we'll keep searching for the magic. I'm sure there will be a new one soon. The key is to make sure you get double the product with just a 2nd shipping and handling.

What would you start with on a friend's car

I'll do the pics. Just hoping for nice weather when we do it. Fortunately, I have a 4 post lift to save my old back because this vette is also lowered.

What would you start with on a friend's car

Thanks. I will. I am hoping for nice weather over Christmas week to do it. Thanks. Yes it is Leman's Blue Metallic and it has quite a bit of HP mods so it dyno'd at 625 at the wheel. It is a fun car all around. The first time he took me for a ride you could tell the traction control was...

    Opinions and experience, please.

Good call on the GG6. I replaced my PC with the GG6 and couldn't be happier with it. Opinions vary on the pads. I like the CCS myself, but you will find others who prefer the Flat Foam.

What would you start with on a friend's car

So maybe to be conservative use a white pad and the 2500. If that comes close, but doesn't do it would you up the pad or the polish first? I have 4500 to finish the car.

What would you start with on a friend's car

I was thinking about that, but I am not sure I would start with it not knowing if I needed to go that aggressive. I don't have IP2000 it would have to be 1500 or 2500. What pad would you suggest?

What would you start with on a friend's car

A friend of mine just got a Lunar Blue 2006 Z06 which has probably lived an average life body wise. The paint is highly swirled, but otherwise looks pretty good and the paint feels really rough with the baggie test. He has asked me to help him clean up the outside (the interior looks pretty...

    AutoGeek is a RIPOFF!

There are "Cliff Clavens" on everything. Whenever someone starts talking as an authority about something that it is obvious they know nothing about I just remember that and listen in amazement to their willingness to share their lack of knowledge.

    AutoGeek is a RIPOFF!

Embrace the difference. When my wife and I lived in Chicagoland, friends used to say that they loved getting our answering machine and listening to her (SC/NC) drawl. It embarrassed her, but I love her southern bell sound.

    Do you name your car?

I refer to my SL550 as "my little 2 seat commuter car", does that count? I tell folks I couldn't afford the King Cab.

Dont wash your car in Garden City, NY.

Cops in Texas Most cops (there are jerks everywhere) here in Texas are friendly. If you show them your CHL they usually talk guns with you and seem to forget why they started talking to you. My CHL has gotten me out of 3 speeding tickets so far.
