any posture tips to prevent a sore back?

Just to clarify that the OP's issue is needing to reach out over horizontal panels. So, a lift nor a stool are really going to help with this issue. The are great tools but not appropriate to resolve the issue. Not to take away from Dbailey but the issue with spreading your legs to reach the...

New lighting project finished - PAR 38 - 5000K LED Upgrade

I actually just found some online that replacements for metal/sodium hallide lights and they average over $250 a fixture. They put out like 3000 lumens which is way more than you'd need for the average height garage. Now if you have ceilings above 12 feet or so then they might workout. Still...

any posture tips to prevent a sore back?

It's kinda inevitable, but to help mitigate a sore back you need strengthen and your hamstrings. Also, warming up before hand, just like any other physical activity is key. Otherwise you get blood pooling and will fatigue quicker. Doing exercises like squats and good mornings will help...

Knee Surgery and Coach Colin Campbell | myodesign com, larry kosilla's knee surgery, larry kosilla, automotive detailing | AMMO NYC Podcast Think everyone, especially detailers, can/should gain something from this podcast/interview. I plan on trying to put something together for detailers that...

    My right arm, DONE!

I had this exact same thing happen from using my Flex 3401. The motion of setting it down and picking it up from the ground, while seated on my HF telescoping stool, really caused it to flame up. The only thing that helped was taking a break and icing. It is an overuse injury causing inflamed...

Help With Aerospace 303 on Dash

Try applying 303AP with a foam applicator and let it dry before wiping any excess off. Sounds like maybe you method isn't leaving enough product behind to actually coat and protect the dash. And, along with it already being asked, what are you cleaning the dash with? What did the dash look like...

New one for me - sticky tree sap

Using a plastic razor blade first for the hardened spots should pop them right off. Then for anything remaining and the sticky spots using something like a tar remover and or 3M citrus based cleaner should remove them with no problems.

    Cant wait..

Have you used Wolfgang Fusion? Just wonder if it's comparable to 476, at a tenth of the price. That gloss plastic looks nice when it's not scratched up, but keeping it that way or bringing it back is a pain. I was trying to polish the driver's door and the key pad kept lighting up; I was nervous...

    Cant wait..

Funny, it gets about the same mileage as my 2001 v6 S10 did when I purchased it in 2004. So much for the "eco"-boost.lol Hopefully the fun factor makes up for any lack of mpg. FYI, I just detailed an Escape the other day that is only about a year and a half old and it has a spot on the hood...

    Taking over a detail shop...

Yeah, Bill. The current owner and I spoke about it and neither of us feels good about it and he honestly doesn't want to sell it since talking with me. I think the owner is just looking to get the cash in hand from the sale and reduce some stress since he owns a paint/body shop and is building a...

    Taking over a detail shop...

Well, maybe, never mind. Apparently the person that wants to buy the detailing business is serious. As usual I got too excited, and spoke too soon. The potential buyer plans to try to run the detail shop with little to no knowledge of detailing, and a guy he (apparently, recently) just met that...

My New HHR Panel as my Mobile Detailing Vehicle

I haven't used any AR PWs yet but have no doubt they are as reliable as Karchers. The two you linked are purely consumer grade models. While they will work, they are have limitations. After q few years of use you would probably be wishing you had bought a prosumer or professional model. One big...

My New HHR Panel as my Mobile Detailing Vehicle

Yeah, I need to get one as well. I've just been waiting for my Marched to completely go, and keep price checking the AR 600s. They are one of the few that put out over 1300psi and have good flow(gpm), as well as adjustable pressure, while still being priced under $1000. They have several cold...

My New HHR Panel as my Mobile Detailing Vehicle

Have you checked out any hand carry units, like AR's(electric) 600 series? They probably have about the same footprint as a traditional electric PW but, much shorter so takes up less volume. Not sure what one requires for inlet pressure, but any pump that puts out at least 3gpm should work.

    Taking over a detail shop...

So I am most likely going to take over a local shop that is currently a one man show, minus a receptionist. The current detailer is leaving very soon, and the until I spoke to the owner and offered to run the shop, he was either going to sell the business or shutdown the shop until he could find...

    Any CPA/Quickbook Savvy Detailers??

Yeah, Will. I would find a bookkeeper that specializes in small businesses and offers QuickBooks setup/support. Once you get the hang of it then you can fly on your own. There is a local woman here that does all that as well as accounting, payroll processing, taxes, QuickBooks, and business...

New lighting project finished - PAR 38 - 5000K LED Upgrade

Nice work! And thanks for sharing. I've been sold on LEDs since I started using a PAR20 5K as my portable/side lighting. And they are so durable! I would have done gone through a dozen halogen bulbs by now. I'm looking into LED tubes to replace my fluorecents. And possibly some LEDs that...

How to get a DA close to molding edges?

Now I just use my pneumatic mini-DA from HF. If that's not an option for you then get some 3inch pads for your DA. When working on areas like stated, then making sure the product is worked into the pad before turning on the machine will mitigate any sling. Remember you don't need very much...
