    Chemical Guys Hose Free Ecowash

Yep, at the urging of another forum member who raved about it. It's a good product, IMO very similar to Ultima Waterless Wash. For me it's a toss up and I'd buy either of those without reservation, based on lowest unit cost.

    Add $10 for Trucks/SUV's.....

Maybe the $10 extra is figured at "minimum wage person for one extra hour" which could be reasonable if your market is "car wash +" type jobs. I figure it based on my desired hourly wage after healthy supply allowances and (fingers crossed) have hit it on most jobs to date. Not quoting jobs...

    Greetings from Seattle

Hello from Vancuver, WA. Welcome to AG. I guess with all the rain today the Washington folks are online instead of out shining something.

    Try this without a steamer

Egads! Any idea what that was, Robert? Fantastic turn-around...even the tight little nooks and crannies are beautiful. I hope you got tipped well or upcharged if the rest of the interior was even close.

    Extractor: How important is heat?

My spray, brush, extract with wet vac method has worked well, but lots of interiors this month has me thinking an extractor might save time and be easier on me. I'm part time and mobile, working 6-10 jobs a month, one per day. Getting conflicting advice on how important heat is. Some say modern...

    Hello from Oregon.......

Welcome to AG. If you're ever up in Portland/Vancouver, look me up. Michael.

"About Us" 1st or 3rd Person

Most of my site is written in the 3rd person. My contact page is written in the first person. Some will say (correctly, IMO) you don't want to appear what you're not. But saying "Great Reflections Detailing works magic doesn't imply a huge staff. But (again IMO) saying "I" all over the place...

    Google Adwords

Not Kirstoffer, but FWIW one company quoted me $300/mo for a year and guarantees #1 or #2 for the chosen search terms. Company 2 quoted me $100 per hour and says it takes 3 them 3-6 hours to start seeing results and occasional 'care and feeding' after that to maintain. They also suggested that...

Looking for a medium to high gloss water based tire dressing

No votes yet for Megs Hyper Dressing? This weekend I also found that Megs Water Based becomes a mirror if you spray and don't wipe off.

    Microfiber Towels

I'm one of many on the forum that likes the Poorboys World DMTs for final wipes and LSPs. One side relatively flat, one fluffy, no linting. The AG rolled edge MF's at 3/$9.99 are roughly equivalent and also pretty nice towels. For more of a utility towel, I also like the black AG wheel towels...

    remarks from neighbors 2

My car is my rolling resume. It never gets dirty enough to really approximate my typical "mom taxi" minivan detail. So I have arrangements where I try out new products and processes on a couple more typical 'daily drivers' owned by friends and neighbors. They think I'm crazy, but in a good way...

    Chemical Guys Hose Free Ecowash

I've used their white product "Go Green" and it was good. I might give a slight nod to Ultima Waterless Wash, but the GC product wasn't bad. Can't find the link, but another AG poster raved about the green colored Ecowash product. I haven't tried it because there were so many others (Like UWW)...

If you don't mind me asking

In my case, about $50 for hosting with Go Daddy and a couple days using the free Serif Web Plus program to build the site. However I just got a quote for $200 to re-write my website, optimized to improve search engine results.

    New Bissell: Alternative to LGM

Noticed this new Bissell extractor. BISSELL Lift-Off® Deep Cleaning System Anyone have any experience? Thinking the larger tank and more powerful motor might give it more cleaning ability than the ever-popular Little Green. Plus, with the base it could be used inside which wouldn't hurt with...

cleaning on the fly with grit guard pad washer

    1. If the pad isn't dry, you can lift it off the grill in the pad washer bucket and free-spin it for a couple seconds to get it almost totally dry. 2. Yes. You are cleaning your pad of used-up, dirty compound in the washer. Then before starting your next panel, apply a small amount of new...

an autogeeks most feared time of year - christmas tree on the roof

I use a big fluffy blanket that covers the entire roof. 2-3 layers of blanket and no worries. Just make sure it's strapped down well so that if you stop suddenly the tree doesn't make a break for it.

    Dealership mess up again.

A great big post-it note right in the middle of the windshield saying "DO NOT WASH!!" has worked for me. Problem is the service writer does not talk to the lot boys who typically move the cars...and the lot boy doesn't need to look at the service order either. FWIW....

    Edge touchup

Great tips, Shaun, exactly my experience as I'm struggling right now to fill a foot long scratch across both doors of my truck.

And the same to you and yours, Mike. Thanks for all the free advice and help this year getting the business up and running.

Black Friday: Work Platform 50% off

Just a quick (hopefully non-rule breaking) note on a product AG does not sell... Lowes will have the Werner brand work platform that many here love to help with tall vehicles 50% off on Black Friday. When not using it to reach the top of an SUV, I even like it as a small collapsible work table...
