I'm sorry you didn't get a timely reply on the forum. There is a full description and directions in the store section. Those replies are from Dr. G (the chemist who makes the coatings and CEO of OPT)...so they are dead on. Thanks for sharing the info here. It will be more readily available as...

    Carpro Dlux OVER Opti-Guard

Hard plastics are fine to Opti-Coat. But they are very porous compared to paint. If multiple layers were not added its likely that that Opti-Coat is there and the Dlux was able to penetrate into the pores. Not through the coating though. Opti-Coat flashes too quickly to do much penetration so...

Opticoat Beading and Sheeting After 5 Months vs No Opticoat

I agree that Opti Coat isn't for everyone, but consider this: those who like to use their car as a test bed and those who find waxing therapeutic can still benefit from Opti Coat. Most toppers will stay on for about a month so you can tell if you like the look and feel it adds without committing...

Best Wash to Use on Opti Coat?

That's the beauty Opti Coat...you can wash with whatever you like. Strong washes won't remove it. So, you can use No Rinse Wash & Shine or No Rinse Wash & Wax to maintain a nice gloss or do heavy cleaning with Dawn or Power Clean.

    Opticoat on Brake Calipers

Yes it will adhere and it will withstand the temps. While you will still need some agitation when cleaning, the amount of pressure and the strength of the cleaner can be greatly reduced. I only need ONR or Optimum Car Wash to keep my wheels and calipers clean since coating them. The coating...

Gtechniq EXO vs. Opticoat (first post!)

Opti Coat is a ceramic (non organic) clear coating formed as silicon carbide. It is very hard, looks very clean, and is permanent like your factory clear in that it has to be abraded to be removed. Due to its strong bond and non pourous properties it is very resistant to acids and chemical...

    question about OPTI COAT 2.0

If the carbon fiber is clear coated use Opti Coat. If not wait for Opti Lens To be released and use that instead. Opti Lens has high levels of UV inhibitors and will work on that surface as well as polycarbonate.

    Optimum Opti-Eraser review

I think the grabby feel is easily fixed by adjusting the way you hold it like I've mentioned and the pressure we apply with clay isn't necessary...so, tweaking your technique will go along way to enjoying the Opti Eraser. I love it for sprucing up Opti Coat every few months. The products may...

    Can Opti-Coat 2.0 be topped?

You can top Opti Coat with anything you like. The most bang for the buck is Optimum Spray Wax. Also, anything will stay on for a time...but due to the non-porous nature of Opti Coat, typical longevity will be reduced to a few weeks tops. Opti Coat doesn't need to be topped or boosted as is...
