    AutoFiber Mitt on a Stick

I understand, but for me there are areas that I simply can't reach or can't get to with a lot of effort. The vehicle isn't overly tall by SUV standards, but it's pretty wide. In the case of the wife's car, There is a spot in the top/middle of the windshield that would only be accessible from...

    AutoFiber Mitt on a Stick

I have a generic one (I think from Amazon) that has a smaller, oval head. It might not have as many adjustment points as the one you're talking about. I really like it for washing the wife's SUV. I use it on the windshield and the roof and it's a real time saver. With the handle fully...

    Glaze and Lotsa Fillers

The body shop that just repaired my car didn't put anything on the paint. It came out naked. In fact I can see some of the holograms from their rotory polishing and a few swirls from where they wiped it down with a cloth that probably wasn't soft enough. Since the paint has to cure after...

Plan for car we won’t keep as long?

A lot of life can happen in a year or two. For this very reason, I'd treat it like you always have and just coat it again. The only time I'd make any changes to the detail routine for our cars is if I was committed to unloading it in a few months and seriously shopping for a replacement.

ADS Quartz applied to the EN!

This was my experience too. I only occasionally use toppers and they never get applied in the cold months after I quit hand washing. When I take them through the touchless, they always come out looking really clean, much moreso than when I used a sealant. Every time, I'm pretty confident the...

Two years on CQUK3.0 + Gliss 1 and CanCoat Evo: what to expect?

Exposure to the environment no matter how much/little a car is driven seems to be the biggest factor. I'd bet the Maverick is probably doing just fine. Even on my wife's car that sees nearly 30K a year and is driven seven days a week, I easily got three years. I saw the same from my car which...

How to tell if I need to replace interior coating

I've applied the DP Interior Coating a few times, and I honestly could never tell whether it was there or not. The interior never looked any different and the surfaces didn't appear any different. This was one of the main reasons I quit using them and just went back to wiping everything down...

    $$$ EXUSE ME $$$

But it's NANO Graphine! That's so much better than just your average graphene the unwashed masses use today. Nano graphene uses tiny nano-bots made out of graphene and brought back from the future in a time machine. Those tiny nano bots actively attack grime to keep it from accumulating on...

    2025 Chicago Auto Show!

I actually made the road trip up to the Chicago Auto Show a couple times with my oldest daughter back in the late 2000's early 2010's. We were actually there for the debut of the Toyota FJ Cruiser! Great memories. I don't bother with auto shows any more. Our local show is really pathetic...

    Washing car before coating?

Depending on when I started the whole process, there have been times when I finished the polishing step one day and decided to stop working and apply the coating the next. The car sits in the garage the whole time, but I'll purposely wait until the following morning to do the panel wipe. This...

    Washing car before coating?

I can understand this idea, but there isn't that much solvent being put down as the carrier agent in the coating, and some polishes are really oily. I imagine the solvents would knock down some of the oils, but I wouldn't bet on it making the surface pristine enough for optimal coating...

    Washing car before coating?

I never wash before applying a coating, but I do use a panel prep like Prep or Eraser. I also have never had an issue with a coating not living up to it's durability claims...to include Gyeon coatings. When I use a panel prep I am very methodical to my approach. I'll spray it on, let it dwell...

    Coating for new Bronco

Something that came to mind looking at that picture is the texture of the plastic on those arches. On my car and the son-in-law's, the black plastic was very smooth with no texture at all, so it made applying the paint coating really easy. If those arches have a texture to them or are more...

    New Collinite Products

Agree. Most of the labeling today is terrible. Just give me a simple lable that tells me what the product is and who makes it. Anyone remeber the old "generic" stuff you used to get in the grocery stores in the 80's? Plain while label with black block letters. Simple and to the point. I've...

    Coating for new Bronco

What is the plastic like on your wheel arches? When I coated my BRZ and the son-in-laws Charger Scat Pack, I used the paint coating on the minor bits of black trim and the spoiler and it worked out great. For interior I'm using Nexzette Cockpit Premium and really like it. I've also heard...

    Coating for new Bronco

Interesting you mention Mohs clogging. I've not seen that at all. Despite using a soap with lower cleaning ability (3D Pink) and one of the wettest, snowiest winters we've had in a while, its still seems to be doing great even when the car is filthy for long periods of time.

How Do You Maintain Coated Vehicle

I treat my coated vehicles just like I did when I used sealants. I'll do a bucket wash with a quality soap, Meguiars Hyperwash is my current affordable favorite.. If I'm feeling really motivated I'll give it a wipe down CarPro ECH2O or Armour Detail Amplify. During the winter when it's too...

    Coating for new Bronco

I hadn't touched on either of these topics and probably should have. I do think MOHS is more hydrophobic than CQUK. From what I"ve seen on my cars, I'd say it's even a touch more hydrophobic than Pure EVO too! As for appearance, I think it provides a pretty glassy, reflective look...

    Coating for new Bronco

I've never tried CanCoat EVO. I really liked CanCoat's results, but found it a little difficult to apply. Mohs was a breeze. It's wipe-on, let it sit for a about a minute until it "sweats" and then wipe off. Any good panel prep should work. I've used Eraser and Prep with multiple different...

    Coating for new Bronco

CQUK has never let me down. However, if you want something easier to apply, I found Mohs EVO to be the easiest to apply coating I've tried. So far, MOHS is holding up for me every bit as well as CQUK, but I'm still on my first application. I'll be trying out Armour Detail Supply's coating...
