What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Put it this way, the people who can afford to buy those cars will keep it for a couple of years, then trade to the latest model. So, basically it's not their problem long term.

It's been a while................................ I've been experimenting with Drag Mode, specifically how it affects manual shift speed. The actual speed at which the shift is completed is extremely impressive. But I just wish there wasn't such a lag time between flipping the paddle and...

The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

It's been a while since I've driven the Mustang, its been sitting covered and on a tender for much of winter.

what's the last car care/detailing video you've just watched?

Why is it when a man buys something for himself, he has to face a jury and firing squad for spending money, but the same doesn't seem to apply when a female does the same thing?

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Have never understood why matte paint has become desirable. Scratch it and you basically live with the scratch forever.

    Perfectly Safe Brush

"...................DIY have brought you something totally new..............." Oh for fu.ks sake, its a freaking brush! What is totally new about a brush? Nor is it the first brush to used this way. ".............this brush makes detailing simpler and more effective". If the goal is to...

what's the last car care/detailing video you've just watched?

I'm not sure I would conclusively say that I like the Rupes more, they both have their pros and cons. PRO - - The Rupes has a higher top speed, and is vastly smoother and quieter, to the point where you can run it without hearing protection. The lack of vibration is also going to be better...

Oh trust me, I know the price difference......................................... The Rupes is better overall, but not what the price difference would suggest.

The ShineMate instantly caught my attention. Seems he really likes them after several years of use.

RIP to my beloved PC7424(need recommendations for replacement)

If you want to stay in a similar format, check out the ShineMate ERO 300, a great unit for about $160. If you want to go to a long throw, check out the EX610 $for about $200, or the EX620 Pro for about $235.

I think we all learn this the hard way. I've always said never, ever, lend a chainsaw. I broke that rule a couple of years ago, lending my near new chainsaw to a work colleague, I ended up having to buy a new bar and chain. Not happy.

    What are you listening to...?

Her vocal power and range is a true gift. Some performers will simply sing the words, and while it will sound good, you don't get that shiver down your spine. A vocalist like Martina on the other hand, her voice becomes an integral part of the entire instrumental effort. I posted this song...

    What are you listening to...?

This song has a very dark meaning, defy anyone to not be crying at the end of this song, but also have sense of anger. I'm not a parent, but the subject of the song is universal.

    DFB's Garage

Despite feeling off colour today, I forced myself to go outside and make the most of the lovely late winter sunshine. The plan was to wash the XR6 before swapping places with the Mustang and it cover going on. The wheels were given a quick once over with OG Decon Soap, the tyres scrubbed with...

    Perfectly Safe Brush

This reminds me of a brush my grandfather had in the shed with his car cleaning stuff. I'm talking late 90's here, so it would have been from the 80's. Not the same as below, his was bright orange, but the concept was the same, as in plugging it into a garden hose. Maybe DIY should go all in...

    Perfectly Safe Brush

For the record, the company in question who made this claim was a leather care company that doesn't actually sell towels, but their recommendation was to avoid "plastic" microfiber towels. Now, please excuse me, I'm going to go and throw my entire collection of microfiber towels in the...

    Perfectly Safe Brush

Further to that, I recently heard someone say that using microfiber on leather is a big no-no because its effectively plastic, which therefore abrades the surface and causes premature wear. Apparently, we should all be using 100% pure cotton for leather cleaning. I love detailing, but...

    Perfectly Safe Brush

Got to laugh, this brush comes from a company whose spokesman insists using a pressure washer to rinse your car before foaming will scratch your paint, as in the high-pressure water is blasting dirt against your paint. And yet, a scrubbing your paint with a brush is perfectly fine? I mean, I...

What did you do today non-detailing related?

I completed the second stage of this carpark garden reno today, which is nice to have it done and off my brain. Like last week, I worked bay to bay cutting the old Hebe’s down to a stub and loading the material into the tray of the Ranger. I then dug down and lifted the stub and root system...
