What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Looking at how they have that arranged, I'd say that it makes producing right and left-hand drive versions easier/cheaper as the centre console and screen would be common to both.

What did you do today non-detailing related?

Hmmm, that actually sounds like more work and fuss than just swapping out the muffler plate like I did. If I wasn't messing about taking instructional photos, it would have taken less than 3 minutes to do.

Finishing Touches - Returning to the interior, I gave it a quick wipe over with P&S Swift, a final vacuum and a misting of interior scent (Angelwax Bliss). Returning to the exterior, I removed and cleaned the licence plate protectors, wiped the tyres down to level off the Perl, then a final...

Exterior Detail - Last week, I actually started on the exterior before tackling the interior. This involved a rather quick foam and rinse using Bilt Hamber Touch-less, basically mowing down the bulk of the road film and bugs. So, the following is the more involved exterior cleaning session...

Subaru Forrester Refresh This vehicle is owned by one of my gardening clients. I’ve detailed this car many times, but it's been quite a while since I’ve touched it. I’m currently house sitting for them, so I thought I’d treat the Subaru to a refresh. With 108,000 km on the clock, there is some...

What did you do today non-detailing related?

More chainsaw detailing today! Before adding a West Coast Saw Bark Box to my new MS 500i, I thought I may as well give it a little attention before installation. The Bark Box replaces the standard front muffler plate with a 304 stainless steel item. Hand made in the USA and featuring TIG...

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

You call that a computer screen? Hmmm, could be worse................................................ And generally EVERYTHING has to be done through the screen, there are only 6 buttons and most of them don't control anything of importance. The lack of a/c control is the most frustrating...

Fashion vs Function on Shampoo Buckets

Maxshine make a Vyper knock off, which is priced at $325 AUD, less with the discount I have access to. But it looks like a cheap copy, so the price tag doesn't match reality. And even if was cheaper, it's still too bulky and doesn't go low enough. This is what I'm talking about, haunching...

Fashion vs Function on Shampoo Buckets

See, I like it that short because I'm a tall guy and it means I don't end up looking down on the wheel with my back arched. I've had those adjustable height seats, they are ok if you are polishing a fender, but they just don't go low enough for wheels. I actually sent one to the dump for that...

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I'm quite tall and even I have to reach up on my toes to bring it down. Being aluminium, and with quite heavily charged struts, you have to guide the hood open as it tends to want to snap up on you. It does however make working on the engine bay nice and easy, ie headroom.

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Funny, I washed a family members Volvo XC60 yesterday as well. Does the hood opening freak you out too?

what's the last car care/detailing video you've just watched?

They last longer and look better than any epoxy coating, which always end up cracking/failing, that's why they have the chips in them, to disguise the imperfections.

The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

Story Time With DFB.................................... I learnt a very long time ago that you should never judge or assume what a customer/potential customer is willing or able to spend. That is something that helped me as a retail worker, but I actually learnt it as THE customer back in 2008...

The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

Happens way more than you think. Sometimes, the car will be touched up before hitting the lot or showroom, sometimes its ignored in the hope the customer won't notice, sometimes its never discovered and customer is oblivious to it. I could "show" you some interesting things I've discovered.

Dealers are often rated for that process, which if they rate well, they get bonuses from the car company. Its all about handing the car over to the customer so that they don't end up complaining in the follow up surveys that they can't make a certain feature work, or that the salesman didn't...

I did too, hence being bummed that the new MTM foam cannons don't fit on it properly, the black adaptor plate the cause. Because I almost always clean wheels while seated, moving from wheel to wheel without getting up is where its at. Hence the bucket dollies. The bracket to hang the foam...

Well, that is very "Super Cheap" is it. I'd expect a bucket dolly to be included in that price.

This may or may not bother you, but know that the clear plastic is not as durable as other plastics and will easily show scuffs/scratches. And I say that as a ADS fanboy.
