Fashion vs Function on Shampoo Buckets

Quite often, clear plastic buckets and foam cannon bottles are made from brittle plastic that is prone to cracking. Now, in that I mean the crystal-clear plastic, not the frosted semi-translucent buckets and bottles made from HDPE plastic. So, yes, these buckets look fancy in the product listing...

The cup holder has a rubber insert, which had covered up the stinky rotten milk/coffee residue underneath. With the insert removed, I cleaned it in the sink with Gtechniq Tri-Clean, which has antibacterial properties. I then drenched the cup holder with Tri-Clean, left it to soak, then...

Oh no, the spilt coffee was there, hiding under the cup holder rubber trim. Was absolutely rank, I had to use an enzyme neutralizer to remove the stench.

I thought I'd make a start on the Subaru today by knocking out the interior, allowing me to do the exterior closer to the owners return. What I thought would take me an hour ended up being a 3.5-hour marathon. I'll do a full write up once I've done the exterior, so for now I'll let...

what's the last car care/detailing video you've just watched?

Broadly speaking, there are two main types of plastic interlocking floor tiles. In terms of Swisstrax, they actually offer three. Solid Tiles - Think RaceDeck tiles, usually with a checker plate design. For these, you would treat them exactly like a bare concrete or epoxy coating, leaf blower...

Not entirely an even match here, but this is an edited 028 vs 500i.................... The below video was posted 14-days ago, easily the fastest growth in views I have achieved so far. Just on 6000 views is nothing in the grand scheme of things, but for me its massive. To be clear, I'm not...

What did you do today non-detailing related?

Made this video on my 39-year-old Stihl 028 AV Super. What makes it "Super", well that denotes the larger 51.5cc engine, the standard 028 AV used a 47cc engine. And the "AV", that denotes Anti-vibration, which back then was a selling point over cheaper chainsaws.

Have you considered floor tiles instead of a coating? I was dead against tiles at first because of the "where does the dirt go" thing. But the fact I didn't have to completely gut the garage and wait for it to cure is what won me over. Turns out the "where does the dirt go" thing was a non-issue.

I measure the quantity of water discharged into a bucket from a full 1000 ml foam cannon canister. That volume is then multiplied by the appropriate percentage, 0.02 for 2%, or 0.01 for 1% and so on.

    Dewalt Corless Vacuum (DCV501)

I've gone a similar path with a Milwaukee M18 cordless vacuum. It has a similar arrangement with a removable flex hose that makes it more suitable for car interiors. In addition to the standard accessories, I went and ordered a boars hair brush attachment from eBay, which I use connected to the...

More Touch-less action today..................... First up, the weekly wash of the Ranger. I've been parking this car outside over the last week as I'm currently house sitting for a gardening client. With no undercover parking, I probably wasted my time washing it, but I don't care. As per...

The Wildtrak was in the box seat this morning. It's been cold, wet and miserable of late, so I had some work ahead of me, inside and out. Starting out, I foamed everything bar the horizontal panels with Bilt Hamber Touch-less, wheels and wheel arches included. With the roof and hood not...

Correct. Odd company, they run two separate websites, one for retail and one for wholesale. There are no pre-qualifiers for someone to shop on the bulk/wholesale side, so I'm not sure the point of this setup. Not to mention paying two licencing fees to use the sales platform, which is thousands...

Just be careful around the Berberis to the left (red plants), they have nasty thorns that would pierce your skin and scratch paint.

This is what 50 microfiber towels looks like....................... These will only be used as shop towels for machinery maintenance and dirty jobs that would ruin "nice" towels. I've been using TRC Rip-n-Rags for this role, however I wanted something a little bigger. Unquestionably, the TRC...

    ADS...The Story!

Sounds like its a similar concept to Carpro Essence, as in it leaves behind Si02 for the coating to bond to, although in this case, its clay lube instead of polish. Frankly, its sounds like a ceramic detail spray being used as a clay lube.

Took these two for a walk this morning. I'm used to a 13-year-old Cocker who likes to stop ever two metres to sniff something. These two ladies are quite a bit stronger, they were dragging me along like a draft horse.

Never been a fan of those pump sprayers. I can foam a wheel in 5 seconds with a real foam cannon, a job that would take 3 minutes with one of those pump things.

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Not knocking the pin stripe itself, rather what its been applied too. Same as the dorks who cut a hole in the hood of a modern Mustang or Falcon to fit a 70's shaker hood scoop.
