Rupes 15 III vs. Gear Driven DA’s

Rupes 15 III vs. Gear Driven DA’s Just felt the need to compare these. On a flat panel, I can get more cut with the 15 III all day, everyday versus anY gear driven DA. I have the Rupes Mille and Flex 3401 and Rupes 15 III. The 15 is WAYYYYYYY more enjoyable to use. It’s smooth as silk and A...

    Mike Phillips is right...

I’ve been really enjoying my Rupes MK III 15. Soooo smooooth when using Rupes pads! I decided to take my 3401 out of hibernation for my 1-step detail today. When Mike says the 3401 will POWER through a detail, he is absolutely right. No need to focus on pad stall, just polish. When using my 15...

    Griot’s BOSS Microfiber Pads

They ones with the thin red foam backing. Man, they are awesome! Very smooth polishing feel, contour well, and most importantly(to me), the fibers do not matte down after polishing a section!! I’ve tried a lot of other MF pads, and these are the only ones that don’t get saturated and caked with...

Good way to clean your AIO pads

I had an AIO detail this past weekend in which I used HD SPEED. The caked on residue has dried on the pad for 4 days. I have some McKee’s APC mixed at 1:4, so I gave that a shot. Didn’t do much. So, it popped in to mind, let me try Poorboy’s Strip Down, as it supposed to do exactly that, strip...

    Hey Mike Phillips...

Happy New Year! I have a 2010 White Toyota Corolla this weekend. It has not been driven much, but sat outside most of the time. Never been detailed. It's oxidized for sure, could barely see my inspection light in the paint. It's a "for sale" detail. Question, after a good wash and iron...

I’ve spent a ton of money on detailing products, but the best investment....

I’ve made is renting a Deionized water tank from Culligan. I can wash my car in direct sun and don’t have to worry about a thing. The tank lasts quite a while as well. Just thought I’d share. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    My new ride...

2019 Magnetic Metallic Mustang GT, 6 speed manual. I have added 19 x 10 square Forgestar F14’s and Steeda Progressive Sport Springs. I’m loving it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Griot's G9 observation...

From the videos I've seen, the polisher seems to be MUCH better balanced with their 6" backing plate. The 5' backing plate looks to really wobble.

The Flex 3401 is really a time saver...

You’ll save time, as Mike Phillips says, “powering” through the curves. If a car had 100% flat panels, I’d reach for a 15/21mm DA every time. However, we know that’s never the case. I cannot stress how nice it is to have forced rotation on anything that’s not flat, or really curvy. I truly...

Some nice pads for softer paint....

Go ol’ LC flat orange and white pads. The orange should be able to take care of most defects with a quality compound. Good pad as a 1-step as well. The white pad finishes fantastic. These wouldn’t be my first choice for cutting or 1-steps on harder paint. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Killer 1-step polishing combo...

I have a BLACK test hood(medium hardness) in my house. OEM Mercedes paint. I've messed around with many combos on this hood, and yesterday, came across one combo that cut and finished great! It was the LC HDO foam pads + Jescar Medium Polish + Flex 3401 and 21mm DA. The orange cut and finished...

Anyone else try the LC HDO pads with the Flex 3401?

They've been advertised as specifically made for a long throw. I used the orange one with the 3401 this weekend and it worked GREAT! I looked into the LC SDO pads, but I think the firm interface of the HDO keeps more even contact on the paint. On a side note, if the paint cooperates, the 3401...

    3D ONE in full sun....

I REALLY try to avoid polishing in full sun(no shade). I had no choice this weekend. 3D ONE worked very well!! Due to it being well lubricated, it did not dry out on the paint. Used it with HDO Orange foam and the Flex 3401. It removed the majority of the swirls and brought back the shine and...

P&S Brake Buster off label use awesomeness!

I read somewhere that Brake Buster has anti-corrosion inhibitors, so when cleaning wheels, spray the rotors before rinsing and the rotors won’t rust. Had to try it for myself and......it’s true! No more Hyde’s Rust inhibitor! I cleaned one wheel with Brake Buster and sprayed the rotor while I...

    Lake Country Force Pads...

I picked up some LC Force Pads(5.5") a few months back to try with the 3401. The orange and white are simply awesome. These pads really make the 3401 more pleasant to use, and the results have been very good. If I need more cut, I'll step up to the LC foam backed low lint wool pads, which are...

Here's why polishing can be confusing...

I have a black test hood, so I wanted to test the finishing ability of 3D ONE and Griots BOSS Fast Correcting Cream. I taped of a section and started with an orange medium cutting pad. With this combo, FCC finished better. I then tested a finer polishing white pad. Naturally, I thought since FCC...

The whole idea behind not removing too much clear is very confusing..

I just watched a YouTube video that basically mentioned, if you do more than polish, you may remove the important top layer of UV protection. With that said, why the need for long throws, rotaries, compounds, etc...Grab yourself a GG 6", polish and finishing pad and you're good to go. I bought...

My new gas pressure washer setup...awesome!!

I bought a Craftsman 3000 PSI & 2.5 GPM with Quiet Sense(idle down). I LOVE the idle down feature, it really quiets the washer when the trigger isn't being pulled. I tested a few different size(orifice) tips with my MTM pressure gauge, as I don't want 3000 PSI when washing cars. I also figured...
