What's With the $150 Coatings All of a Sudden?

Ok, $50, 60, 80, $90...that's what coatings have been costing...all of a sudden we have Pan's at $150, DIY 8yr at $160, P&S Stout at $150, and a new Optimum coating at $150...for 15cc's!. Are these coatings worth the money? Or are they just what the mfrs think they can rev the internet/social...

    Optimum TRCMA Releases (2025)

Optimum is rolling out some new products ahead of TRCMA, in the way they rolled them out before SEMA, perhaps to get ahead of the detailing news cycle. These seem to appear at the Optimum Car Care/Opticoat sites and then later are announced on the Optimum Forum (whoever broke the v.6 news here...

    Rinseless Pre-Spray Equipment

When rinseless pre-spray became a thing, we all went out and bought cheap little pump-up sprayers from Home Depot, and that seemed fine. Then came fancier pump-up sprayers, mostly IK, some with capability to foam, followed by people hacking them with air pumps, followed by IK factory equipping...

    P&S Stout Coating

Who is going to take one for the team and give this a shot? $149 for 30ml, $201 for 50ml.

    Dr. Beasley's Laundry Detergents

I just got an email from Dr. Beasley's--they have come out with two laundry detergents, one for Home (clothes) and one for Garage (microfibers). Come in quarts only, pretty pricey...well, maybe not completely off the wall compared to a quart of say, Rags to Riches, but you can get a gallon of...

    Saver Applicators--Suede or Terry?

For those of you who use the AF Saver applicators, which do you use, the suede or the terry, and why? Do any of you use the finger mitts? Or the blocks (velcro or not)?

Converting an IK Foam Pro 2 to a Multi Pro 2

Has anyone done this? Can you simply take out the "mixer" and reinsert the dip tube, and install the nozzle from a Multi Pro (which you can buy at TRC) and be able to go from a foamer to a regular sprayer and back?

    Mike Phillips Pad Video

Mike did a livestream today on the Dr. Beasley's YouTube channel on buffing pads, I've only watched about a third so far but it's excellent, great history, etc. I can't speak to the rest of it that I haven't seen yet, it's about 1:25 long.

    Black Friday Sales

I know someone already started a thread for work platforms, I have mentioned in passing that THOR is having 25% off all month, someone else said ADS has 25% off this week, I just got a Stoner email that they have 25% off + free shipping, I guess through Monday. Autogeek has 20-25-30% off this...

Learned a New Tire Cleaning Trick

I know it has come up before when cleaning tires for coating, that some people use Tarminator or some other solvent. Well, today I saw I missed a spot that was still brown, and I had already put away all my tire cleaning equipment etc. I happened to have some IPA (straight supermarket 70%) and...

    Detail Guardz

As came up in the unpacking thread, TRC stopped in the Detail Guardz SEMA booth and it was pretty interesting. I guess I had seen this product before but hadn't really paid attention. This product is like a Grit Guard, but for lack of a better word has "counter-flow" technology, which means...

    Decon Washes vs. Brown Gunk

I don't clay much anymore because I don't want to mar and have to polish after (because I am old and lazy? or maybe old and busy...and lazy). I had to clay one of my cars the other day and was surprised at the brown gunk that came up on the clay. Has anyone ever done any kind of side-by-side...

    SEMA 2024

(Wasn't quite sure what sub-forum was appropriate for this, but here goes) I personally think it's a little early to start a SEMA thread, and I don't know if Autogeek/SonaxUSA are going to have a booth this year, but over on the Optimum forum they've already "leaked" that this is going to be a...

    XenForo Software Feedback

I figured I would start this thread to get some visibility on any problems members are having with the new software. I'll go first: The "sticky" threads no longer have any identification that they are sticky--when you post a new thread to a subforum it appears under the sticky threads, but...

    Bigfoot Mark V

Looks like just in time for SEMA Rupes has incorporated the advancements from the large iBrids (composite gears, new thin backing plate, etc.) into the corded polishers, calling them the Mark V (LHR). Personally if I was going to go for one of these I would pony up the couple hundred dollars...

    Lost Members

I have noticed we lost a few members since the change from vBulletin to XenForo (I'm thinking Eldorado2K and Klasse Act, but I'm sure there are others). Do we think they just gave up on the forum or aren't here because TapaTalk doesn't work with XenForo?

    XenForo Observations/Questions

First of all I'd like to thank Juan (Administrator) for all the hard work it must have taken to get this forum switched over to XenForo, including the gallery. I think all of us active members appreciate it, after whatever it was that was slowing down the old vB software. In poking around some...
