    Hurricane Ike

Interestingly, I was moved to look again at Carla. It made landfall on 9/11/61. I'm trying to locate some stats so I can do a comparison between Carla and Ike.

    Hurricane Ike

I'm from Texas. I grew up 9 miles from Galveston Island. It seems that Ike, for being only a Cat2, did more damage than Carla, a Cat4 (the hurricane in my personal experience), did in 1961. Strange, isn't it? I wish the best for those who have been adversely affected by Ike.

    Take a moment to remember...

I awoke that morning with an intense feeling of trepidation. I knew something was wrong, but I didn't know what. When I got to the bar I worked at then, the first thing I saw on the TV was the plane crashing into the north tower. It took about 10 minutes for me to realize I was watching an event...

Professionalism is...

    where are the wholesale products?

I have been reading threads dealing with starting a detail business, and sadly, all of the products here at AG seem to be left out of the mix. Cited are high cost of product, retail product quantities as opposed to wholesale quantities, and (my favorite) it isn't the product, it's the...

    Dealership paint protection??

I don't know if undercoating had changed in 35 years, but if it hasn't (and you're one of those who likes the idea of cleaning your wheel wells), I would avoid undercoat. It is (or at least was) a spray-on petroleum tar. It's messy and will get all over your brushes, towels and anything else it...

    Hi from Los Angeles

Thanks, Buddy. I'm looking forward to getting back into the detail arena. When I was a detailer on a car lot (35 years ago) I learned by jumping in and getting my feet wet. It was absolutely the best experience in my life. But the chemicals were harsh, the elbow grease was intense, and the...

    Hi from Los Angeles

I'm new to AutoGeek, but not new to detailing. Well, maybe I should be new. My experience is 35 years old, and so many things have changed in the field of auto-detailing that I am learning all over again. At least it's only learning the new products and methods of application!
