General liability will not cover damage to a client's car in your custody and control. Only garage keepers will. I am in Michigan. Have been in business for years. Actually added boat detailing to my offerings and had to raise my coverage. It may vary from state to state though.

I have the 15 and I use Buff n Shine microfiber pads with no issues whatsoever. I do NOT have the KB mod installed, although I do have the washer. I don't apply a tremendous amount of pressure, but the MF pads do seem to slightly bog it down. However, I have noticed no drop in correcting...

As far as where you can do work as a legitimate "mobile" detailer is all dependent on that particular municipalities ordinances... mostly in regard to waste water runoff. Do mobile detailers perform their services where they're technically not allowed to? Sure. I am not saying you cannot...
