Before I found ONR and started using it exclusively, I used Griots Garage spray on car wash. That is the best waterless wash I've used. I have tried some poorboys world and meguiars but Griots was just better. Griots didn't seem to leave any protection behind and worked better with a fluffy...
I have gone a whole year with a coat of 476 wax and the water beading never went away. This has been an unintentional wax test, I sprained my back while washing waxing my car one day and lost interest in detailing since then. The only other wax that seems to last this long that I have personally...
I have 10 months at least since I last applied wax to my car. I used autoglym HD. I usually wax a few times a year because its a hobby but in the last year I have had no time for it. My paint still beads and I have been through a coin op touch free wash a few times. One thing though, I need to...
I use a single coat of 476 once per year on my car. I do use OCW occasionally after a wash. Application is very easy with the Autoglym hand applicator, the coat should be barely visible during application. Water beads on the paint all year long. I haven't washed my car since September and the...
I used a boars hair brush once, it left a dirt film that I had to go back and clean with a microfiber mitt. The layer of dirt the boars hair brush left behind was easily wiped off with a slight rub of my finger over the paint, and I did try to get it off with the brush but it wasn't possible. I...
I got a new 2011 ford ranger assigned to me for work and I finally got around to washing it for.the first time a month ago. I applied a quick layer of OCW even though I should have clayed or at least done a cleaner wax but my paint looks great and is still beading water even though it hasn't...
I have ONR and DPWG they really seem like the same product they just smell different. My family likes ONR since they all line up their cars around my grandparents round driveway and I knock out 4 washes in a row like it was nothing and didn't have to get tangled up in a hose.
I use the microfiber car wash mop on a pole from Walmart. Its cheap and my back doesn't hurt after I wash my car. It works as well as any of the wash media I've ever used.
I think 1 good coat of wax or sealant is all anyone really needs. I've layered and never saw an actual difference in looks or durability. Until someone can prove with maybe a microscopic picture of layers of waxes bonded to paint I think it's all hype and marketing.
I use ONR on my vehicle for every wash. The only time you shouldn't use ONR is if there is mud all over the car or maybe dried on grass clippings. Those require a powerwash rinse before you use the ONR. I've washed my car with ONR in conditions I would never recommend, and my paint isn't covered...
I got AG HD from Walmart too and found the wax difficult to apply by hand. Most waxes I use have at least some lubricity to them but HD wax went on kind of dry and spotty. It sure looked great when I was done though. I even think collinite 476 is easier to apply than HD.
Meguiars Supreme Shine towels are great for wax removal, quick detailer application, cleaning dashboards and interior, and emergency bird bomb removal with a waterless wash. I've never seen a scratch come from one of them.
