If reset does not remove the streaks, i would recommend using carpro essence plus. Its formulated to work with carpro cquartz ceramic coatings. I had good experiences with it. Its non abrasive.
Re: Has anyone had this issue? Touch up paint running down the panel more than a week later...
Its not the prep work. Its the actual paint being sold by the dealership. The touch up paint from tesla is really runny and doesn't hold as well as honda or Toyota touch up paint. Theres nothing you...
Give it another try. Go straight speed 5 with the orange pad and m110. After you see the compound starting to dry out, stop, wipe off residue, and use eraser to check your work. If it was done right, the defects should be removed permanently.
All the spots that can come off with the water spot remover were the ones where a wash cant touch it. The remaining water spots are deeper in a sense that it cant be chemically removed. The next step you took is the right approach. You mentioned the spots coming back, is this within 1hr or...
what brand water spot removers have you used? What brand compound, tool, pad are you using? When doing a test spot with the water spot remover, does it help at all?

10mil=250 microns.... That panel for sure repainted.... I've worked on some new cars with 150-170 microns but never anything over 200 microns. Wetsanding will only make it shallower but will never be able to remove it. Touching up over it will pass 5ft test but still noticeable. Only a repaint...
For gloss black trim they don't like compounds with heavy abrasives. I avoid using m110, m101, m105 until last resort. D300 is my go to compound with a LC orange pad. Does not instill micro scratches and usually can finish down with menzerna2500 with LC white pretty good.
