Prep for Sale Pt. 2 -- Wheels and Wheel Wells

Thanks! Glad to see another GA member on the boards. It took around 30-45 minutes per wheel. Some were worse than others with brake dust so they got some special attention with the clay.

Prep for Sale Pt. 2 -- Wheels and Wheel Wells

Haha, Thanks for the complement! Yes, these are painted wheels so there is essentially no difference from using it on regular paint.

    Washing problems?

I'm going to guess swirls. Two things: 1-Black is just about the worst color for swirl identification. It is extremely easy to spot swirls on a black car just by nature of the color. 2-Hondas are notorious for having soft paint. You can breathe on them wrong and instill a swirl. Having a...

    adams detail spray causing film

Richard doesn't know how to use detail spray! For what it's worth, I never had problems using my sample of Adam's detail spray with Optimum products. I had a similar streaking problem to yours when I first used FK425 (due to the fact that it was drying before I wiped it off), and...

The Official How Much Water Do You Use Thread Start to Finish

I'd say I use around 10 gallons total. 3 gallons in wash bucket, 2 gallons in rinse bucket, and 5 gallons pre-rinsing and post-rinsing the vehicle. Maybe 12 gallons at times. I do not rinse each panel after washing. I wash the whole vehicle then rinse the whole vehicle.

Now we all know that dish wash is bad for your car, how about the reverse?

I of course agree that Dawn will strip some weak or old waxes and sealants but I've never seen any adverse effects from using it as a stripping/pre/post polishing wash. I am not sure about the chemistry of what cleaners Dawn has in it compared to certain rubbers/plastics on a car's finish and...

    Shampoo Plus vs. Duragloss 901

How many ounces per gallon are you guys using for 901? The directions state 1oz/gallon but I haven't yet tried using a higher dilution ratio. I'd like to try out Hyperwash just to compare it to the others I've used.

    Google Chrome

FF4 is great. However, FF and IE took Chrome's layout style. Not that I'm complaining. I love the competition and I love the simple "Hidden Options" and lack of bloat from the top of the browser.
