    Critique my logo, please.

One issue with using gradients is that they don't embroider well - something to keep in mind if you're planning on getting hats and shirts with your logo on it. If you look at the Autogeek logo at the top of the screen it uses a similar two-tone effect, but the line between the two shades of red...

Pick one please: OC or Blackfire

OptiCoat is permanent. Only way to remove it is to literally polish it off the paint. Blackfire Wet Diamond's protection will slowly fade over time, usually 4 months. Both are among the best LSPs on the market today, but if I had to choose one I'd go OptiCoat.

Head-to-Head cage match - Klasse SG vs. Collinite 845

If you like 845, you'll love Blackfire Wet Diamond. Apply a coat of Collinite 845, dry, buff, then apply BFWD. For those that don't want to use a coating like OptiCoat, 845/BFWD is the best protection available IMO.

Dirty tires not coming clean with OPC

I'll give 505 a shot. The local Home Depot is within walking distance and at $5 a bottle I don't have much to lose - except dirty tires. ;)

Duragloss Aquawax is the real deal!

There are few products in the detailing world that are as universally loved as Aquawax. It truly is a must-have in any detailer's collection. Yes it's "just" a spray wax, but it's so easy to use, smells nice, is inexpensive and looks great. If you're going to spend the time to wash your car...

    Ode to Aquawax!

Love Aquawax so much I bought a gallon of the stuff. I have OptiCoat on my car already but Aquawax works so well as a drying aid, shine booster and aromatherapy that I have to use it every time I wash the car.

Dirty tires not coming clean with OPC

I purchased them I think July-August 2013 and were swapped for winters in November. Suds were brown at first, then turned white. I do have a carpet scrub brush for my PC7424XP. Maybe scrubbing them with that would help? Sidenote: if anybody's in the market for a good, all-around all-season...

Dirty tires not coming clean with OPC

Hi all, I recently had my all-season tires installed on my car after being in winter storage at the local tire shop. I sprayed down the tires with water, hit them with Optimum Power Clean full strength, scrubbed with brush, rinsed. I noticed they were still dirty, so I repeated this process two...

    nanoskin

Love the AutoScrub pad. I have a PC7424XP but I use it by hand since I find it's easier to control, I can hear and feel the contaminants being removed and I can fold the pad to fit into tighter areas. For lubricant I use ONR at clay lube strength.

The most toxic product you have used/use

Used to use Meguiars All Wheel Cleaner until I switched to Optimum Power Clean. http://apkgroup.com/msds/English/Meguiar's%20(605)/G9524%20(11-17-2010).PDF MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET G95, Hot Rims® All Wheel Cleaner (20-45E): G9524 Eye Contact: Corrosive (Eye Burns): Signs/symptoms may...

    Headlights.....help!

Sandpaper? Nah, don't need to go there yet. Meguiars PlastX is great for restoring cloudy headlights. Inexpensive and found at any auto store. If you have a dual-action polisher (Porter Cable, Griots, Flex), use a 4" polishing pad and buff until clear.

    Favorite Clay Lube

ONR. To me there's no point in investing in a bottle of clay lube for a task I'll do maybe twice a year.

Riccardo Detailing Clay Now Available at Autogeek!

I'm in Canada so I've had the luxury of using Riccardo many times over the past couple of years. Autogeeks, you're going to LOVE this stuff!

    Riccardo Detailing Clay on Autogeek.net

Rsurfer - I've used Riccardo many times in the past. I haven't used Pinnacle's clay so I can't compare the two brands. Riccardo comes in two colours - yellow (mild) and blue (more aggressive). I believe the yellow is the more popular of the two, but by how much I'm not sure. I've used both and...

Are High End Products Worth The Money?

Since you detail for a living, I'd leave it up to the customer. If they want you to use those high end boutique products on their car let them know up front that they'll pay more.

What products "WOW" you every time you use them?

BFWD. I could apply that stuff in direct sunlight to a black car and it would still be effortless to apply and remove. Shine and durability are outstanding too.

    That one product...

Blackfire Wet Diamond - the best LSP on the market, not including coatings. Have never once been disappointed by its shine, durability, ease of application and removal. Optimum No Rinse - Rinseless. QD. Clay lube. Interior. Inexpensive. Easy to use. Smells great.

Metro Vac N Blo or other Vac

I have a Vac N Blo and love it. Compact, powerful, plenty of attachments. It even has a small hose and brush for cleaning the instrument cluster and navigation system. The blower isn't powerful enough to dry an entire car, but it is useful for blowing out wheels and crevices. It also comes with...

DON'T WASH CAR! by Mike Phillips

Re: Don't wash car !!!!!!!!!!! Better for the service guy to think you're nuts than to go nuts fixing damage that should never have been inflicted. An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. ;)
