Drying with a DP Turbo Car Dryer

I want the exact opposite because of the noise. I would like to get the blower portion further from me while I am drying the car and the strap seems to be an afterthought.

Drying with a DP Turbo Car Dryer

It's slick and only about a month old. Most of the water rolls off, but like I said, some of it turns to very small beads that dry on the surface. Looked like some areas were dotted with ink pin size dots. It's not a coating problem. Could be an operator problem and that is what I am trying...

Drying with a DP Turbo Car Dryer

Thanks I'll try that. I also will try the sweep nozzle on horizontal surfaces. I will say that blower does put out some force.

Drying with a DP Turbo Car Dryer

I got a DP Turbo car dryer and used it this weekend on my car. The car has been recently, within a month, been coated with Getechniq Serum light so it beads water like crazy. In using the blower for the first time, it does a great job of getting the water out of the nooks and crannies, but it...

My thoughts PBL Wheel and Glass coatings

The glass coating held up for about 7 months and the wheel coating for about a year.

Scratched Headlight Lens - Picture inside

I actually had to wet sand it. I polished with the Plastx and it just wouldn't do it. I then pulled out some Menzerna 2500 and got a little more out, but still not everything. I finally tried some 1500 before giving up and wet sanding with 3000 grit. It removed it all and then I polished it...

Scratched Headlight Lens - Picture inside

The Megs took quite a bit of it out when I tried it during my lunch time. Maybe 75% but left individual scratch marks that are apparently a little deeper. I will try a little more with the Plastx, but I think the deeper ones are going to require some compound if not a little wet sanding.

Scratched Headlight Lens - Picture inside

Thanks I'll try that first. Hopefully it will clean it up.

Scratched Headlight Lens - Picture inside

Thanks. It is a MB SL550. When I walked out to the parking lot where the guy told me he hit it, my first thought was oh crap! because of the convertible mechanism. When I saw where he "rubbed" it with his tire I was actually relieved.

Scratched Headlight Lens - Picture inside

This morning a guy scratched my headlight lens with his pickup tire. I need your expertise as to how you would fix it. You can see the scratch from the side of the lens and going across. It is not deep (i.e. can't catch fingernail in it), but is scratched. Thanks

PBL Wheel Coating on new Alloys

Thanks. I figured that I would have to treat them like any other newly painted surface. I wash the car at least once per week, so keeping them clean won't be a problem.

PBL Wheel Coating on new Alloys

I bought new Vorsteiner FF wheels for my car and they are to be delivered on Tuesday. It is my understanding that these are flow forged, painted, and clear coated to order. I am guessing that these shouldn't be coated right away. Would you think that 60 days in hot Texas would be a sufficient...

    Most regretted detailing product purchase

Okay thanks. So far mine have lasted, but I will be interested to read your thread. I used to use Poor Boy's and that didn't last for me, but so far this seems to be holding up. Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

    Most regretted detailing product purchase

Just curious as to why you regretted these. I've had 8 months on the wife's Murano so far and the coatings are performing well. What did you regret about them?

    LED Worklights

Excellent. Now I know that I did it wrong with my LED's on the side of he garage when it comes to paint correction, but they sure are helpful for general mechanical work. Good info.:xyxthumbs:

    LED Worklights

I have a 3 PNL LED LIGHT W/TRIPOD from doitbest. It works well and you can see it sitting in my garage in this picture on the top right It is really helpful to find the defects and the side lights have a huge amount of adjustment. Cost online was about $125.

    Garage flooring

For me taking everything out was good. Quite a bit didn't need to be put anywhere except at the street, but maybe you are less of a pack rat than I am. One key that I didn't do to start was to start in the "right" corner. If you start in the "right" corner then all of the snaps are press...

    Garage flooring

The floor will be the easy part. Taking everything out the garage and painting it will be the work. Looking forward to seeing your after pictures. :xyxthumbs:

Fuzion on top of PBL Sealant?

I found the thread. It will be interesting to see whether I like the characteristics of the Fuzion on the hood versus the Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Sealant on the rest of the car. I do the gentle wash already so I should see the characteristics of each without them being topped by something...
