    Oops

I had to look at the picture again to see why you guys are freaking out so bad! I showed the same picture to a paint guy & he thought it could probably be buffed out...I'm just not sure how. The lower right isn't a defect, its the reflection of a parking spot's white line. The only damage is...

    Oops

I know better than to put pressure on a body seam but I was so focused on the scratch that this happened. Surprised I was able to do this with a flex DA. I can feel no difference in thickness with my finger, maybe I can fix it?

Stubborn swirls: Technique or neglected paint?

Had to go do the things that support my new 'polishing habit' for a few days lol. Anyway, I wasn't able to get a picture that captured the defects but I did take several suggestions and tried the following: Black pad with 205, more pressure than previously used: very little effect. Orange...

Stubborn swirls: Technique or neglected paint?

All I have is the 105/205 & the flex. Can't see the swirls in the garage except with a flashlight, will try a sunlight pic tomorrow.

Stubborn swirls: Technique or neglected paint?

I'll try to get a picture. I admit I don't have a really good idea of the difference between marring/swirling but if I had to guess I'd say what I have looks more like the first picture, not the second, from this post...

Stubborn swirls: Technique or neglected paint?

I'll give it a shot, can't see how a little baby oil is going to hurt anyway. The 105 dries very quickly so I was probably dry buffing, I sometimes had to spray it down to get it off. No one said it yet but it sounds like the yellow pad might get me into trouble so I'll keep at it with...

Stubborn swirls: Technique or neglected paint?

I saw a 1,000 page post about this and saw several 'pro' recommendations to NOT do this. No real reason given though. I was trying to not write a book and left out the fact that I did start the job with a black pad and M205. I really didn't see much improvement, there were heavy water spots...

Stubborn swirls: Technique or neglected paint?

I got my flex 3401 and M105/205 kit last week and started using it for the first time this weekend. I found the flex pretty easy to control, it brought my 13 year old SUV's oxidized paint back to a shine I don't remember it ever having. Onto my wife's black 2006 TSX, I had more difficulty...

The griots is about the same price as the porter cable, why choose it?

    1st purchase - missing anything?

@setec & Johns I certainly appreciate the feedback. What I usually try to avoid is buy the same thing twice, my reason for going with the flex polisher. I like what I've read about it being quicker - I don't have a whole lot of that "free" time people talk about. On the other hand, I'm not...

    1st purchase - missing anything?

I had to laugh when I read embolism's post, I understood none of it! Man the acronyms are killing me. What's a BOGO, WGDGP, LSP, etc? I have some cheapo clay but will look for some here. My main goal with the Klasse is a long lasting protection, but I admit I know nothing about it other than...

    1st purchase - missing anything?

I have a sickness that requires me to research things to death before buying, and boy has this site provided enough rope to hang me with! I try to buy the best I can afford first (Harbor Freight lesson many years ago :P) so my cart has a flex kit in it. Please let me know if there are any...
