How many of you use a machine to remove LSP?

Yeah, I did a search on here and unearthed a Mike Phillips thread on slipping the bonnet over a pad and you can definitely use a DA. I'm just wondering how many people do it.

How many of you use a machine to remove LSP?

Amateur detailer here. I have always used my trust Porter (bought here) to polish my vehicles and to apply LSP. However, I always remove my LSP by hand. I would like to switch to a machine for that removal. A few questions: 1. Can I use my DA for this? If so, what type pad is best? 2...

Should I leave my clear-coat alone? or should I polish it?

You'll be fine. Mike P is right. I would suggest: 1. Wash 2. Clay 3. Clean, Polish and Seal in one step with an AIO. I use HD Speed. 4. Buy a Porter DA, about a half-dozen LC orange pads for the AIO and one or two red pads to apply any wax or sealant down the road. 5. Have at it. The Speed is...

WGDGPS -- What pad do I use to apply?

One of the above posters is right. Whatever pad you use, that is your pad from here on out. I can't get WDGS totally out of my red pad, which is what I use.

Needing to bring the shine out

May get flamed here, but here it goes: I used simple soap and water - whatever you are washing your car with. And you have to use a brush, etc., and put some elbow grease into it. I do it last, so I'm not using that soap/water on the car. Then, after I dry, I simply use the coating of my...

    S100 vs. P21S

I used p21S and was blown away by the result on a bright red Mustang. That being said, it's really not that conducive to being applied by machine (you have to remove the block of wax and rub it on the pad). If you are applying by hand, this is probably the most cost-effective of the high-end...

Auto Geek ordering not honoring one of its $25 Savings Note

Moderator, plz remove this thread. I'll work it out with AG on Monday. No worries.

Auto Geek ordering not honoring one of its $25 Savings Note

I used a thin 5.5 LC Red. There was some rotation at 4 but not a lot. It had no problem at 5.

Auto Geek ordering not honoring one of its $25 Savings Note

Will do. It's all good. Got a coat of Wolfgang DGS on my son's Honda this afternoon. Not really thrilled with the Porter on 4. Barely rotated and I was barely touching it. Even tried Mike P's one-hand method. I think 5 on the DA was way too much. Hence the purchase of a GG DA. Will use the...

Auto Geek ordering not honoring one of its $25 Savings Note

Got the $25 Savings Note with my last Auto Geek order. Good through July 31st, it says. Also says "use it on sale items, custom items, polishers - it's your money." Only caveat is that I have to spend $150. So I order a DA for $149 and a red 6.5 LC pad for LSP bringing total to about $162...

Starting to get the hang of polishing

HD Speed but I also had some Klasse that a friend had given me. Again, I'm new at this, but the quality of the AIO is really gonna depend on the pad and the operator. Now that I have an idea of how it is supposed to work, I think I could use a variety of AIOs. I will say the Speed was easy on...

Starting to get the hang of polishing

Man, I made a lot of mistakes getting to this point. But Mike's videos really helped out. I started out with a badly swirled Torch Red Mustang - a color that shows everything. I bought compound and polish, but had no clue what I was doing. Did the whole car with compound and nothing happened...

    Porter vs Griot's

Never even thought of that. I should use the slowest speed possible that gets the LSP on the vehicle. And the Porter's 5 or 6 is definitely high enough to get the polishing done. I swear, I don't care how it looks, I'm never doing another car by hand again.

    How many pads?

Use a lot. Don't make the mistake I did and try and get by with three. Use a half-dozen at a minimum. If you don't have a half-dozen, wait until you do. And cleaning on the fly and scrubbing the pad in between - well that's a mess you don't need. Do a couple of sections, remove the pad, spray...

    Porter vs Griot's

Was doing some polishing this weekend when I accidentally set the Porter to 4. Imagine my surprise when I got almost no rotation at all when the pad was placed on the car surface. Is a problem running a low speeds common to all Porters? I seem to remember reading something about this. The...

    Cleaning extremely soiled leather seats

I have some extremely soiled leather seats (I work in construction) that I need to clean. I have been doing a lot of research here on AutoGeek and it seems the best plan of attack is to hit them with a degreaser and a brush, followed by conditioner, etc. Everyone cleaning extremely dirty...

Seperate / Dedicated Pads for AIO Products?

I use same pads for different products. I use Wolfgang's pad rejuvenator and was amazed how well it works on LC Orange this weekend. When I finished with a pad, I would give it a couple of squirts of rejuvenator and just drop in a bucket of water. When I was finished and had about a half-dozen...

Wolgang sealant on perfect paint. Should I use polish enhancer and top with wax?

Easier solution: After you do whatever you do and apply the Wolfgang, just use the Pinnacle carnuba SPRAY wax as a topper. Don't use a full-blown wax. Then, after each wash, apply the spray wax. Your sealant is gonna hold up for a few months and a few washes, so just use that Pinnacle Spray Wax...
