S100 vs. P21S

After using S100 for the first time, and being pleased with its ease of use and overall appearance, I am curious about P21S.

Costing roughly twice as much as S100, I wonder how it compares. I've read reviews of S100 that rate it very, very highly (some even say that it comes within a hair of Souveran, but I can't verify this). Has anyone used both products - S100 and P21S - that can educate me on the differences between the two? Is there a noticeable visual separation between the two? I'd like to try it out, but I don't want to drop $30 on something that is just a duplicate of the S100.

I know that they don't market S100 as a "concours" wax like P21S, but I don't care about marketing, I just go with what works!

I have both and they are pretty darn close to being the same. I think P21S has more of a yellowish tint whereas S100 is a little lighter... but I've used almost a full jar of each and I wouldn't be able to tell a difference. They both apply the same, look the same, remove the same, smell the same, etc. A lot of people on AGO don't like P21S / S100 because it has beeswax in it. Beeswax offers no protection but it makes cars bead very nicely. However, it isn't just beeswax in the wax, as there is still carnauba and other materials in it to offer protection. I like S100 / P21S on vehicles with metallic flake as it is a nice and clear wax. Poorboy's EX-P is a clear sealant and IMO this combination is great on metallic colored vehicles and will make flakes pop.
 
Well, that makes it easy to just stick with my S100 and experiment with layering it on itself or other products to see what the restuls are! I'll have to try the EX-P and see how it works. Thanks!

never noticed a single difference in any product between the two ... well maybe price. One is geared to bikes the other to autos. It really seems to be just that !
 
never tired neither one, but from what I've heard they are the same products, the only difference is price. So for $30 you can get a better wax, like XMT 180, DP Max Wax, Natty's Red.
 
Loved the ease of application and the look of P21S, but it seemed to turn the car into a dust magnet. I'm guessing the 100 would do the same.
 
I have both and if there is a difference I haven't found it yet.
 
I love p21s Carnauba on primary colors. It also never leaves marks on trim or caking in cracks.

I was told the S100 products are more resistant to gasoline seeing as though the gas tank on a bike is where the highest concentration of wax is gonna go...the S100 cleaning products are geared to clean gasoline and other motorcycle residues more than auto contamination.

this information came from someone who worked with P21s' chemists when they designed the "100% Carnauba wax"

and I am an S100 user.
 
I used p21S and was blown away by the result on a bright red Mustang. That being said, it's really not that conducive to being applied by machine (you have to remove the block of wax and rub it on the pad). If you are applying by hand, this is probably the most cost-effective of the high-end carnubas. Unfortunately, I'm gonna have to switch to a liquid wax or a sealant for machine use.
 
just bought a new jar of p100 and still found it exemplary on my black accord. my prep work made the final results amazing. 50 plus years of detailing and still going strong. at 15 bucks a jar just an amazing wax.
