    96 Oldsmobile Intrigue.

Maybe it was a 98 or newer, that's just what I got from the owner.

    96 Oldsmobile Intrigue.

So my customer today has owned this car since it was new and where they park it the back of the car sits out in the sun and just gets hammered all day. The bumper was beyond what polishing could fix, but its better than it was before. So in maintaining the budget the customer wanted to keep I...

How do you remove grease marks from paint?

Your plan of attack seems similar to what I would do assuming you've already tried a less aggressive soap. I wouldn't use a sponge I'd think you'd be better off sacrificing one microfiber towel just for the grease spots, been my experience that most sponges are pretty hard on paint. And if you...

    Biloxi, MS And Surrounding Areas

Don't mind if anyone wants to come even if they just think they might like detailing. Lord knows I can talk about it for days. I've got an old Nissan 240 sx that I have to correct half of for a display for a drift even coming up at the end of December. It'd be a great opportunity for someone...

    Ducati Satin Paint Care??

I had the same problem on my 2010 Triumph Street Triple R. Where the tank met the seat was completely polished and shiny. I've also seen the same thing on the Ducatis. So if you decide to go with the satin finish a tank protector is a good idea.

    Ducati Satin Paint Care??

I used to work for the Ducati dealer here in town as their parts manger and what everyone else has said is absolutely true. We even sometimes had problems with customers using spray wax on their bikes and it leaving a streaky residue. Also the Ducati matte paint is different some other...

    Thin motorcycle paint

I'd say it depends on how bad the defect is and what level of correction you're trying to achieve. If you have any, throw some pictures of the area up so everyone can take a look at it. I have hand polished out some pretty bad spots, so it can be done. If you are just going to be polishing...

    Thin motorcycle paint

In my experience some StompGrips are a little to aggressive for street riding, they can sometimes wear into your jeans or other riding pants. I think they make less aggressive pads for street, but I have used the Tech-specs before for my street bike and they work very well, and they look pretty...

    Thin motorcycle paint

I used to work at a motorcycle shop, and fixed a number of tanks on used bikes that were going up for re-sale. The paint on Ducati and Triumph bikes is pretty soft. I could typically get away with using just M205 and an orange LC pad on a PC to take out most of the defects. Then another light...

    DIY Clear-coat failure repair

Give it a shot! I've painted cars with Rustoleum in a gallon can before. I diluted it slightly with some mineral spirits and got some foam rollers and went to town. It was in my younger days of course but it came out pretty good. The finish wasn't nearly as glossy as automotive paint but it...

    Problem uploading photos

Thanks Jim, Vegas and I got to the bottom of it and it was a resizing issue. Sometimes I'm a moron and I'm ok with this.

    DIY Clear-coat failure repair

Thanks Vegas, I hope to contribute whatever I can lord knows I've learned a lot from the members here already. The process I used was similar to TD's in the link you posted, but this was a quickie took me about 3 hours, and maybe another half or so tomorrow to finish with the polishing. Now I...

    DIY Clear-coat failure repair

Ok, so figured out the picture issue (thanks to Vegas Transplant), make sure your sizes are correct before you do what I did and spend an hour messing around with stuff that won't work. Before shots, as you can see the damage was well beyond simply sanding and polishing. I forgot to mention...

    Problem uploading photos

Created the album, and retried and same problem must be something with the pictures themselves. Says its uploaded but when I go to the gallery it says no pictures are in there.
