I just did a black S550 not too long ago. MF cutting discs with compound followed by a foam polishing pad and fine polish did it for me. Even if the defects are light on your job, I don't think the white pad and 3800 will provide enough cut. Given what you have, I would try the orange pads and...

I use multiple machines when I work. Sometimes it just helps to have forced rotation when working on certain panels. I just cut through a ton of serious defects with the 3401 and foamed wool on this 328. Corrected just as well as my MKII Rupes with MF pads which I have done countless...
