    Finding Swirls 101

Yes, exactly what Eldorado2k said. When looking for swirls with the light, you want to be looking around the reflection of the "hot spot" of the light beam, not the cast of light on the panel itself. If you move the light around while watching that hot spot you will be able to see stray...

    Claying Xpel Ultimate

There's always a chance of marring while claying but don't forget you have Xpel Ultimate....it's a self-healing film! Any minor marring you may induce will likely self-heal with the application of heat. The entire front end of my car is covered in Ultimate and it is great stuff. I had a...

    Trouble Cleaning Tires

Thank you for the replies. I typically use a soft sponge and some pH neutral shampoo to clean the tires as I never let them get that dirty. But when I saw the whitish residue appearing I figured I needed a stronger cleaner and brush. I did the final scrubbing with the Mother's brush and...

    Trouble Cleaning Tires

I had a heck of a time cleaning my tires today. The tires are Cooper RS3-S with only around 700 miles on them so far. I don't typically use tire dressing and the tires were relatively clean prior to washing them. I was initially using a Mother's tire brush and some Black Magic Bleche Wite...

Question for the Pros: Protecting High End Brake Calipers

Yep, same ones. The silver coating on the inner barrels was the reason I had to use Reload on them. It was much too coarse to be able to apply CQUK to it. I called up Roush regarding the coating and they said they did that sort of as an OEM touch to prevent corrosive brake dust from damaging...

Question for the Pros: Protecting High End Brake Calipers

I've heard good things about the Pagid RS series pads but they are several hundred dollars a set for the Brembo GT kit. I also read some mixed reviews on the Carbotech 1521 Bobcat street pads. I almost pulled the trigger on a set for the rear but read that the initial bite when cold isn't as...

Question for the Pros: Protecting High End Brake Calipers

I researched different pad options for the Gran Turismo kits, but have decided to stick with the supplied Brembo pads (Ferodo FM1000). I've read they can be a bit dusty, but they are quiet and are an excellent street pad. There aren't a whole lot of other options unless you want to step up to...

Question for the Pros: Protecting High End Brake Calipers

Thank you for your replies and suggestions, I appreciate it. I think I will do a couple coats of CQUK and use Hydro2 to give things a boost when I wash the wheels. I will not be tracking the car so hopefully the CQUK will hold up as long as 281 mentioned above.

Question for the Pros: Protecting High End Brake Calipers

I just purchased a Brembo Gran Turismo big brake kit for my car like in the picture i've posted below. I've ordered it with a custom 2 stage clear coated automotive paint option. What would be the best choice for protecting the finish on the brake calipers before I mount and install them? I...

    Best microfiber towels for rinseless

Mods, feel free to delete my post. I would do it myself but I cannot edit the post. Sorry, I didn't know I wasn't supposed to post links like that.

    Best microfiber towels for rinseless

I bought a bunch of the Detail Master Eagle Edgeless Blue towels from The Rag Company: 16 x 16 DETAIL MASTER PRO Eagle Edgeless Blue They're like a Microfiber Madness Crazy Pile, only cheaper. Extremely soft thick pile, and easy to work with. I use the GD wash method with these towels and I...

Langka blob eliminator leaving paint dull???

I successfully used the Langka blob eliminator to repair a rock chip in the A-pillar of my new Mustang. It seems to be normal for the blob eliminator to dull the touch up paint. I noticed the same thing. It seems to be the chemical nature of it. I let the touch up paint dry for a few...

    CQuartz UK on Chrome Wheels?

I'm with you on that. They are heavy but I could not find any wheel design that I liked better for this car. I just PM'd Avi@CarPro and he was nice enough to reply back quickly. He said the same as you about the 2 Eraser wipe downs after UWW+ but suggested a standard car shampoo wash to be...

    CQuartz UK on Chrome Wheels?

Yeah they just have some fingerprint smudges, dust, etc on them so I was going to wipe them down with UWW to minimize scratches. I didn't know if all the "good stuff" in UWW would mess with the proper bonding of CQUK to the wheels after the Eraser wipe down.

    CQuartz UK on Chrome Wheels?

So I just received my wheels yesterday. 281, you weren't kidding about the coating on the inner barrels. That is some rough stuff but I suppose Roush does that to keep the wheel simple to clean by having the chrome only on the outer face. Sort of an OEM touch I suppose. I was going to...

    CQuartz UK on Chrome Wheels?

Gotcha, I see what you're saying. I wasn't sure if the CQuartz would lose it's pop over time like waxes/sealants do. I thought Reload would act like a booster but it sounds like it would be unnecessary?

    CQuartz UK on Chrome Wheels?

That protective coating does not sound good. Hope I don't have to deal with that. Yes, the plan is to coat the wheels before I install them. I will take my time and make sure I buff all the CQUK off. I was under the impression that Reload is to CQuartz what spray wax is to your LSP...

    CQuartz UK on Chrome Wheels?

Those be my wheels...so purty :xyxthumbs: I'm still waiting to receive them from Roush. I did get to try out the CQuartz UK today on my chrome Gorilla locking lugs. I first wiped them down with Eraser and then applied the CQUK. After a few minutes I wiped them off with a microfiber and they...

    CQuartz UK on Chrome Wheels?

I also purchased Dlux but haven't tried it yet. Isn't Dlux meant for plastics and trim though? I know it says you can use it on wheels but I wasn't sure how the clarity would be on chrome wheels. Can you explain how Dlux would be more durable than CQUK?
