CQuartz UK on Chrome Wheels?

So I just received my wheels yesterday. 281, you weren't kidding about the coating on the inner barrels. That is some rough stuff but I suppose Roush does that to keep the wheel simple to clean by having the chrome only on the outer face. Sort of an OEM touch I suppose.

I was going to wipe the wheels down with Ultima Waterless Wash Plus to clean them up before applying the CQuartz UK. I was then going to follow that with a wipe down with CarPro Eraser before applying the CQuartz UK.

Would that be a bad idea to clean them with UWW+ prior to the CQUK? Would Eraser do a good enough job of removing the UWW+ residue?

Since they're new they should be pretty clean. You can UWW then clean it with Eraser prior to coating, I'd just hit with Eraser and then coat....

Yeah they just have some fingerprint smudges, dust, etc on them so I was going to wipe them down with UWW to minimize scratches. I didn't know if all the "good stuff" in UWW would mess with the proper bonding of CQUK to the wheels after the Eraser wipe down.

you can always do 2 Eraser wipedowns to get peace of mind lol...make sure to post some pics! I love the design of these wheels but man they're heavy...

I'm with you on that. They are heavy but I could not find any wheel design that I liked better for this car. I just PM'd Avi@CarPro and he was nice enough to reply back quickly. He said the same as you about the 2 Eraser wipe downs after UWW+ but suggested a standard car shampoo wash to be safe.

Here's a pic of one of these beauties. It's still nice and dirty from shipping.

This is the inner barrel coating Roush applies to their wheels. It's impossible to wipe with a MF towel...like trying to drag it across Velcro. I was able to apply Reload to it using a foam sponge. I suppose it's better than nothing.

This is the car the wheels are going on, a 2014 Mustang GT California Special in Deep Impact Blue.
