PS.. It's the finishing discs that are murder! Can I stop at 1500 grit and move on to polishing? (chemical guys V series)

Hey guys, I'm looking to restore a couple headlights and was looking for some good velcro sanding discs to use with my polisher. I initially had Meguiars in mind, but for ~$35/box per grit, I might as well grab some new headlights! Any suggestions?

Hey guys! New wet sander here. I'm wondering what the best type of tape is for wet sanding (abrasion and water resistant). The blue 3M stuff gave way pretty quickly. Any input?

It hasn't been in any accidents and both headlights are of the same age (had to restore them not too long ago).

It's actually no more visible in person, it's so weird! I do not have a polisher, but I can sure hit it with some wicked elbow grease. Any recommendations on easy to get polish?

I'm kind of partial to the rounded handle design seen in the Crescent and Stanley versions, otherwise I'd have no problems getting a Craftsman set

I actually tried the meguiars kit, but it was too far gone of a job for it. I used 800, 1000 and 2000 grit wet sanding followed by plastix buffing and meguiars headlight treatment. The plastix wasn't enough to cut the 2000 grit marks though I suppose. Still a tiny bit hazy (not oxidation though)...

Hey guys, I've seen a couple threads here talking about this (I think... I get lost when it comes to this stuff) but wanted to make one of my own. Is there a cheaper alternative to the Meguiars 3-inch foam backed sanding pads? I'm looking to grab some 800, 1500 and 3000 grit, but not at $20-$30...

Ahhh I gotcha. As I understand it, the meguiars doesn't have any filling properties either, but it does restore clarity. Totally need a buffer :(

My headlights aren't in perfectly clear condition (although no oxidation is present) - do I need to polish them to perfection before I apply this, or will it fill in the fine scratches from sanding like a clear coat/meguiars does?

So it's like a super expensive but permanent version of Meguiar's headlight protectant?
