What's the last form of exercise you've done?

Re: what's the last form of excercise you've done? Kettlebell(KB) deadlifts/KB bent-over rows/KB swings curls, Russian twists on stability ball( SB ), SB hip extension... all done in circuit fashion... for 4 sets... efficient and quick... in and out.

    HELP... new to detailing

agree with Calendyr, can't tell much about scratches by picture, but 1st picture doesn't look too bad; never used CG products but would be wise to start with the least aggressive compound/pad choice and go from there. I'd try polish with a polishing pad; if that doesn't get it, try polish with a...

Is the coating applicator supposed to squeak?

I've had the same squeaking using 37 paint coating as well as Opti-coat; good question as I've wondered if I had enough product on applicator or if not... but never had an issue other than noise... assuming you still see product being applied I wouldn't be too concerned.

Rotary Pad-ucation - from none to some?

X2 on the wetting of Ceriglass... found myself spraying it about every 10 seconds of buffing with my HF rotary and Rayon 5" pad; works but takes patience. FWIW... I started out using Wolfgang Uber Compound and TSR, yet to use the Finishing Glaze, but happy with the rotary and these...

thanks for that ( Griots Finishing Sealant )... never would have looked at that for an All-in-One.

Lapsed time between polishing and sealing

Yea, that pretty much covers it... remove whatever dust, etc. has settled on the paint since you last wiped it down. It may be anal of me, but I like to use whatever detail spray, rinseless or waterless wash product is of the same brand as the wax/sealant... may be not necessary, but...

    Buffing trails

It definitely looks better than 1st go around. I would be inclined to think the Toyota paint would be on the soft side. It seems the consensus would be to use a foam finishing pad when finishing that paint... have only used foam myself on soft paint with very good results. It was stated that the...

    2008 Silverado - Detailing results

Looks shiny; can't really see the scratches... but I've gotten scratches out of pretty much the entire length of a Murano ( maybe softer paint ) using UC... with the DA power system - smaller pad and the compounding/maroon pad.

POLL - What's the number one most important factor when it comes to polishing paint?

With my limited experience and an impossible question to answer with one answer, I'd have to go with paint; I think the particular paint would dictate which technique, tool, pad and abrasive technology would be best used to polish that particular paint. We are all correct , no doubt, given the...

    Knee Injury

Jaretr1, glad to hear you have little paint with that much damage; most likely the jolt you get at times is the meniscus as ligaments don't have much blood supply and pain associated. I have RA and have had 7 surgeries... 4 on one knee - zero cartilage at present. My issues have lead me to...

Beginner trying to get a good black finish.

Have also seen the DA power system for $15... SO worth the money. I first used it before getting my Griots DA. I use it with a HF angled drill that maxes out at the minimum rpm for the power system but has worked fine... I still use it for small panels. I haven't used it with a regular drill but...

What's the last form of exercise you've done?

Re: what's the last form of excercise you've done? rotator cuff exercises ( supraspinatus )... followed by Fitter - side to side ( core and shoulder stability work )... weighted stability ball crunches ( with slow extension and up to neutral spine - no flexion )... hammer strength chest...

Need help choosing between DA or Rotary

Hey, blackinnova... I can offer my experience, albeit I am not a seasoned expert, but use a rotary and a DA; it's hard to beat the speed a rotary can provide in correction... and it's hard to beat the ease of use using a DA. I don't think it is hard to use a rotary given ample practice. I find...

    Most frustrating day ever! HELP!

not sure of the hard/softness of the Q5, but can you get/try something OTC and mild like Ultimate Polish? only mention it because I've used it for holograms on softer black paint and it works wonders on that type of paint.
