How to wash your car using the two bucket method

Thanks Mike! Three years later and I wash it the same way when it is above freezing. Also, thanks so much for all the information. I will be an Autogeek customer for life. Jon Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Autogeekonline mobile app

Quickest way to get 'er done?

I do have hot/cold running water outside and I use this method all the time. Having a great wax on the car is invaluable for a quick clean. Thank you Mike for making us all better car owners.

    After the rain

Awesome ideas. I am using the Wolfgang rinseless diluted to whatever it said to use as a waterless. I will give the ONR a shot next.

    After the rain

A scenario that seems to be common enough for me that I should have a standard procedure. So I drive 35 nasty highway miles in a pouring rain. Like any good Autogeek I recently put Fuizon over a couple week old coat of WGPS3.0 so when I stopped hard in the garage nearly all the rain rolled off...

Coating questions? Do they degrade? Are you married to them? Can you go back to a wax or sealant?

Hahahahahahahaha - a whole year. How many people here have waxed a whole car more than once inside of a week for a slightly less than sane reason? (or is that just something I do?)

how often does everyone go to the dentist?

I write code for a living for an auto manufacturer and I come home a train like a competitive powerlifter. Believe me, I know all about body maintenance and have a chiropractor and massage therapist I visit frequently. The body is a system of systems. Speaking specifically about the...

how often does everyone go to the dentist?

Funny enough, I was just brushing my teeth and while moving my electric toothbrush along the prescribed pattern I had the odd thought that I am actually not brushing, but rather machine polishing with an aggressive compound. I follow up with an aggressive Listerine rinse and a good floss. Am I...

    Advice for a Newbie

Drive North, pay the $4 and then go West. Stop before you get to Wisconsin. I live in Northville which is also a short drive to the People's Republic of Ann Arbor. (I am a Husky by undergrad but my Master's made me a Husky-Wolverine which my mother thought was hysterical when she coined it) It...

    Advice for a Newbie

She doesn't ask about my "carwash stuff" and I don't ask about her clothing purchases. She accepts that washing the car makes me happy so off I am sent. One time her eyes got really big when I pulled out "all" of my chemicals. (It wasn't even like a third of my stock, I was just setting up to...

    Advice for a Newbie

Hysterically awkward secret handshake returned. Java is for drinking, C (and begrudgingly C++ and Python) are for coding. The condescending UNIX user from the Dilbert comics is my career goal. My collection of microfiber products is bordering on embarrassing. I have different colored wash...

    Advice for a Newbie

I use a rinseless occasionally. I use the leaf blower rarely and rely on the electric dryer. I have all the stuff on hand and the hose is coiled right beside my driveway. It only takes 4-6 minutes to get set up. I am a software development engineer but I have been in the auto industry long...

    Advice for a Newbie

You might notice that I basically just regurgitated information from your book and all of the ridiculously detailed and well-written articles you publish. I don't post much because there is almost no question that hasn't been answered here already. :-) It is mind bogglingly easy to get a car...

    Advice for a Newbie

I am almost literally in the same boat but a few years into this. I traverse I-275 and I-696 basically daily and I like to keep my little ATS super shiny because I park in a sea of Cadillacs. That said I have tried lots but I have gotten to the point where I got up a little early today and my...

Post Your Most Uneducated Comments Ever Received In Detailing History

"Paint is a wear part, like brakes pads. Why prolong the inevitable failure?" A coworker with a doctorate degree in engineering said that about his G37.

    Deep gloss paint sealant question

I just applied Wolfgag Fuzion two weeks after applying DGPS and it looks fantastic. WGDP looks great on it's own but like everyone above said it is stupid easy to apply and let it cure for 12 hours.

    Winter Wheels and Tires

This is the kind of retentive attention to detail I will most definitely try. Presently my wife is out with my kids. I mowed the lawn and washed my car. I am inside chugging ice water to stop sweating and I am going to put a coat of Fuizon on my car as it sits. Paint is OK. It has a coat of...

    Winter Wheels and Tires

Thanks for the reply! M105 was a typo. I meant 205 and the Meguiar's folks were kind enough to put an idiot proof label to differentiate the two. I already did two test spots on the roof and the Total Swirl Remover and 205 combination achieved the shine I want with the DGPP. The clear is much...
