Hey Mike I've been wanting to ask this question for a while, and since you added to this thread, hoping you will see this. Is there a difference between a "good swirl finder light", and say a quality flashlight like a SureFire LED tactical light with about a 350 lumen rating?

From what distance do you see the defects on the paint that is left when inspecting in the sun? Is it really close or more from 5' away? Cause sometimes as long as you get the clarity in the paint it's not worth it to chase the RIDS. Since you have to take off to much clearcoat to get them out...

Will do the in between wipe down. As far as the Essence goes, wipe off right after it's laid down w/ the machine, or what SWETM says to let dwell for 5-10 minutes? Also, two pads are enough for the entire car? If not, I'll have to clean and go. Thanks.

Ok, the D300 w/ the LC orange worked! There are a very few slight imperfections here and there, but I can live with them, they're that light and I have to really look for them. I should use a LC white with the Essence?

I will try that first as I only have the 2 that came with the kit plus a Griots Fast Cutting MF pad. If I have to move to the MF, I'll just have to clean as I go. Thanks, Eldo.

Will definitely follow Guz's advice. Yes I have marked my backing plates and have rotation. Actually, the paint looks pretty good, just some problem spots with heavier marks in each 2x2 area. I will wipe with Eraser after Essence. Hope the 16.9 oz bottle is enough, if not I have Griots Paint...

Actually, only the two that came with the kit plus a Griots 5" Fast Cutting Pad. Definitely going to pick up some more. Going to try the D300 om the orange pads, if not up to snuff, will use the MF pads and just keep cleaning the ones I have. Thanks very much!

I have Eraser to prep for the coating. I don't have D300, so what would you suggest with what I have to do today? And thanks.

I have to get to work today, like now. I don't have D300, what would you suggest I use in place of that with what I have. Oh, and I didn't put Griots Correcting Cream. Also have the Megs Correction Compound that comes with the kit.

I thought you could finish down with LC orange pads.

1. 5-6 Machine speed, with some pressure and lightening up on last pass. 2. 4 Passes. 3. 3 LC grey, 5 LC orange, 2 LC white, 1 LC black. 1 Griots mf, and the 4 Megs that come with the MF correction kit. 4. I actually wouldn't mind the second step, but with all the tuning in, it turns into 4 or 5...
