Bringing luster/shine back to glossy plastic

It’s just plastic. There are stickers near it which are obvious. No wrap.

Bringing luster/shine back to glossy plastic

I didn’t bring it up to the dealer being I assumed a light buffing would fix it. It wasn’t horrible and when I started it sadly got worse. I may just buy the replacement pieces. I just don’t see it getting any better unfortunately.

Bringing luster/shine back to glossy plastic

No worries. It was cheap. This plastic must be super soft. I took a really soft foam sponge with a dab of 3D one and barely put any pressure on as a tried it on a tiny portion and the same thing happened. So will the speed and a new pad really make a difference or try the menzerna?

Bringing luster/shine back to glossy plastic

The plastx didn’t work, tried that first. It leaves the haze/dull look. So I’m guessing I need more of a polish without any cut?

Bringing luster/shine back to glossy plastic

Update! Tried the 3D one with a new black pad. Same issue. The gloss won’t return. Ughh!

Bringing luster/shine back to glossy plastic

Im near Milwaukee:) I didn’t realize plastx was that aggressive. Ok, I’ll order the 3D one (don’t need the sealant)if you think that’s best! I really appreciate the feedback! Plan to ceramic coatings afterward.

Bringing luster/shine back to glossy plastic

I should have asked if it’s worth trying the Meguiars plastx with the new finishing pads before I buy another product? Also, what speed on the portal cable orbital?

Bringing luster/shine back to glossy plastic

Thanks guys. Ya, it was a white pad I think. Should I use a black one? I can try the 3d speed. Im assuming I need just a polish without abrasives?? Do you all feel confident I can remove the haze/cloudiness?

Bringing luster/shine back to glossy plastic

Hey folks, I just bought a new Yamaha YXZ1000 Side x side utv. It has very glossy blue plastic (not painted). It came from the dealer new however had some scratches. I consider myself pretty well versed in detailing and polishing cars having done many over the years and even ceramic coatings...

Wolfgang Si02 rinseless wash leaves haze

Thanks guys! I will try a lower dilution and perhaps skip the presoak unless it’s quite dirty (winter months). I think a panel at a time will help too.

Wolfgang Si02 rinseless wash leaves haze

I didn’t see that. I wonder if I could prespray one panel at a time though…then dry?

Wolfgang Si02 rinseless wash leaves haze

Hey guys, just recently switched from ONR to the Wolfgang si02. My technique is using one ounce in a gallon or two of water for the wash mitts and I also have diluted solution in a pump sprayer in which I pre spray the entire car before I start. Well anyway, I follow the dilution ratios pretty...

    Wolfgang product surplus question

I don’t want to break any rules here, so please advise me if I do and I’ll remove the post. I recently transitioned over to the Wolfgang ceramic coating (Profi). Love it so far! Before doing so I had purchased from auto geek quite a few of their waxes, sealants, etc. Now I don’t have a need...

    Wolfgang DGPS after an AIO?

I agree, new plan of attack! Thanks!

    Wolfgang DGPS after an AIO?

It was a month or so back that I used the 205. I’m thinking it’s best to just hit it again with 205 following up with the Wolfgang. The AIO might cause more issues than anything.

    Wolfgang DGPS after an AIO?

Is there any benefit to using one of the AIOs followed by WDGPS or just skip the AIO?

    Wolfgang DGPS after an AIO?

The cars were polished (105 or 205 depending) earlier in the season allowing some small swirls from washing etc to show. My goal is to get the paint as close to perfect within reason before using the Deep gloss. I could hit them with the 205 then move onto the deep gloss if you think that’s...
