So I foolishly started looking for a nice ‘93 to ‘96 Fleetwood Brougham to add to my stable. This generation of the Fleetwood was the last of the big RWD Caddy sedans. I know I know, the Riviera guy bought a Cadillac. But they’re cool too, right?
. Eldorado2k understands.
Anyway, I just picked up this excellent Cotillion White w/Garnet Red interior ‘93 (with just under 42k miles) on Monday and proceeded to give it a thorough detail. For those of you who are interested (and you wouldn’t have clicked on this thread if you weren’t
). Here’s what I did:
• Cleaned fender wells with Meguiar’s Super Degreaser, and wheels/tires with P&S Brake Buster
• Presoak foam with McKee’s 37 Coating Prep Auto Wash + a little Optimum Power Clean
• Rinsed then chemical decon with Griots Iron & Fallout Remover
• Rinsed then contact wash with McKee’s 37 Coating Prep Wash and rinsed again. Moved from the driveway into the shop
• Mechanical decon with clay mitt and Griots Speed Shine for lube. Dried each panel when completed.
• After a test spot, polished with Tac Systems Refinish Ultra on Lake Country Orange Foam Pads using Flex 3401. After a few sections, polished out the glass with pads before changing them out for a fresh one
• Went around again with Dr. Beasley’s NSP Z1 on Lake County White Foam Pads. Let it cure for 24 hours
• Applied Tac Systems 1-Step Master as final LSP. Used it on all paint and plastic trim
• Cleaned and protected chrome and stainless steel trim with Mother’s All Chrome
• Protected wheels with Polish Angel Supersport PTFE and dressed tires with Adam’s Graphene Tire Dressing
• Cleaned interior with Ultima Interior Shampoo Gel, Hybrid Solutions Interior Mist Detailer, and Hybrid Solutions Leather Mist. Finished with Sonax Glass Cleaner on all glass inside and out
Results:
Thanks for looking and happy detailing!
