Here’s the save of the day.. A 2004 Black Lexus IS300 that had waterspots, overspray, swirls, scratches, holograms, chips and headlights that needed some work... Again, I put Menzerna polishes to the test.

Procedure:

After having prepped the outside:

Menzerna SIP – LC White CCS Constant Pressure Pad. – Flex 3403L Rotary @ 1400 rpm. Over the entire surface. This took care of some of the deep scratches, oxidation and any remaining overspray.
Menzerna IP – LC White CCS Constant Pressure Pad – Porter Cable 7424 @ No. 5.
Menzerna Final Polish – LC Green CCS Constant Pressure Pad – P.C. 7424 @ No.5
Menzerna Power Lock Polymer Sealant – LC Black CCS (Grey) Pad – P.C. 7424 @ No. 2

The tinted clear coat transfer (at the beginning),to the pads was the same as the one I had when I corrected 90% of a Black RX300.

I ran into some serious overspray. You can see the white dots on the paint. Meg’s. Red Clay took care of it after a good little bit..

Headlight Restore Procedure:

Wet sand with 3M 2000 grit until surface was an even white haze. Then came back with a 4” White LC CCS Pad and Menzernas IP. Gave the final gloss with PlastiX.

Note. BELOW…NOT a Hologram, it’s a cirrus cloud reflecting on the hood.

I'm beat.....

Nice job! I love the reflections of black. It really tells you if you've done a good job.

what a heap! nice work dude!

just make sure to address the window trim tomorrow...it will really finish the job off nicely!

BTW, is that an LSU decal in the rear window? if so, Geaux Tigers!!! if not...oh well : )

Great save! The paint's condition looked horrid before. Now it looks like a show car paint job!

I would have gone on the trim with 'Black Again' but they rushed it out of my hands at the last minute,...Yes..LSU...Geaux Tigers...!!!

Huge difference between the before and after.
Great job! :dblthumb2:

Beautiful turnaround!

I just did my IS300 over the weekend. Required some wetsanding on the driver fender and driver door. Imperial Jade Mica (green) turned out to be rather beautiful when I got done. That cowl being brought back to black would have made a huge difference. It did for me. It easily could make the difference between a clean detail and a half booty! But hey if they were in a hurry then that's their own fault! Good job sir

I'll post pics of my process after I get more pics uploaded!

That car was FUBAR'ed and you did a great job of bringing it back.

That thing was HAMMERED!!! Nice work!:dblthumb2:

Thanks guys. Sure thing, let me know when you post pic Mica Green is a beautiful thing.. BTW did you get any dark clear coat transfer like I did on your pads?

I posted some pics in the wet-sanding section. Had to knock out some heavy orange peel.
My lex did not have tinted clear. I think just the solid colors have the tinted clear. I still need to look into this myself and figure it all out as to which ones have this. Just haven't had time.

For some reason I missed these two images. Below the trunk after the job was done. and a restored headlight shot. The clear on the trunk had several spots where bird sh@% had chewed its way through. Regretfully not much I could do about that..
