'04 Scratchy, Smelly Honda Pilot Nicely Detailed

Nice work. I've been using D300 more & more. How long did that monstrosity take?

I'm glad I'm here and I'll be posting more.

This Honda paint wasn't soft at all. I had to work the heck out it for 6 hrs of total polishing time. Once I corrected the hood I seen what this paint was going to look like I decided I had to do the whole SUV. It was a alot of time that I enjoyed and my customer did too! I called in a helper the next day to do the interior while I concentrated on correcting the paint.

Doing the roof wasn't a problem at all, I'm 6'2" and have a nice 3 step ladder that works great. A must for any pro.

And thanks again for the support and confirmation that I'm doing it right. I refer to my Detailing business as a practice due to the ever changing products, paint and techniques that evolve daily. So confirmation is appreciated. Again, thank you guys!
 
Dude, that is exceptional work. Now that is what detailing is all about. To take a piece of crap like that and make it look juicy wet and popping, you did a truly great job. Earned every dollar too.

What did the client say when they saw it?
 
And here's the culprits of the scratches. Bikes and 8 little girls! As I was evaluating the car one of them was actually writing on the drivers door with a stick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DAMN!! Well, the Pilot came out looking great, but I wouldn't be surprised if it looked the way it did sooner than later. I'm sorry, but a litter of kids don't have to tear a car up. There's a concept called respect for other people's property and if they can tear a car up that terribly, I'd hate to see what else they tear up. My girlfriend has an 8 year old son and he's known for a while that I like my car to be kept clean and not be touched or molested in such a way. He understands, too, and I've never been mean about it. I've seen him touch other people's cars and regardless if it's a junker or a nice brand new car, I tell him he needs to keep his hands off and not touch others' property. Simple concept, really. Just throwing in my two cents.

The end result looks great, though, I just can't imagine it lasting for very long.
 
GREAT work! I absolutely LOVE the D300/301 system. Usually works great on a lot of paints but there are some anomaly's.

Thank you very much. When I did the 50/50 on the hood I brought her out to see it and she was shocked and amazed that I could do that. She loved it!

Thanks, and yes your right, keep your hands off other peoples property. But it is what it is. She'll call me again next year, I'll charge her full price, again, and smile the whole time working on it! :)

Thank you. Yes the MFS works great on a lot cars and it's easy enough for armatures to get these results. It's defiantly a game changer.
 
Thanks for the post. Gives me hope that I can get my wife's similarly beat up '03 MDX back into good shape. Did you use the MF pads by hand under the door handles? Hers is beat up there badly as well and that is an area I really want to work out.

Your welcome!
Door handles: I use M105 and an MF towel and rub until the scratches are gone. Takes a min or two.
Meguiar's Ultimate Compound is kinda the same as M105 so you can use that too
