This car gave me and my cousin fits for almost 3 days. Dont get me wrong, this black metallic paint is one of my favorites, and the past 3 identical 350s I did came out flawless, but this one was just one problem after another. Now this one was a little more used than the first three I did, lot of RIDS and swirls from the getgo. The first buff we did barely took out any swirls, the second buff left holograms, then when I went to polish out the holograms, more swirls seemed to appear. Now maybe it was operator error, but Id like to think I we knew what we were doing, I mean were not experts, but definately not amateurs. Anyways, in the end we got it and as the pics will show, I think we managed to pull off something nice. Ill get into detail further done with the pics. So here is what we did.

Process:

PreSoak - Dawn and Foam Gun, CG APC, CG Wheel Cleaner, and Stoners Tarminator
Wash - Dawn and MF Mitt, MF Scrub Pads, and Various Brushes
Clay - DP Clay and CG Clay Lube
Wetsanding - 800 to 2000 grit 3M paper and ONR for Lube
(Only my second time wetsanding, did the entire front bumper and a
few scratches and paint touch ups, very easy and great results)
Buff and Polish:
1st Try - Megs. 105, 5" Hexlogic Pad, and Makita Rotary
(105 flashed to quick, dusted to much, and guess has more of a learning curve)
2nd Try - Megs. 105/205 75% and 25% mix, same pad and rotary
(this helped alot with working time and dust, but left holograms, which I know
are part of buffing, seemed to have removed 90% of swirls and a lot
of the Rids)
Hologram Removal - Menzerna 106, DA, and White Hexlogic Pad
(removed 98% of the holograms, but either added or uncovered some swirls)
Final Try - Menzerna 106, Rotarty, White Hexlogic Pad
(This got any remaining holograms out and took care of any remaining swirls,
perfect finish, 106 always seems to save the day for me)
Final Wash - Mix of Dawn and CG APC, Foam Cannon, MF Bone, and Various
Brushes.
(Used my cousins foam cannon, this pics later will tell the rest, got to
get one, things awesome)
Wax - Pinnacle Sovran X 1, Final wipe down with Megs. Ultimate Spray Wax
( The Megs. Ultimate spary wax is a must, easiest spary wax ever used
and leaves an amazing finish)
Wheels and Tires - DP Wheel Glaze and Megs. Endurance Gel
Glass - Stoners IG
