06 mustang finish

So.... suppose i have a black mustang (2005) and it has some pretty bad swirling in it which route should i go?

What i have tried

Rotary (Dewalt)

Optimum Hyper + Purple LC Komp, 50/50 Wool, Wool
PB SSR 2.5 + Purple LC Komp, Wool
XMT 3 + LC Orange
357 (Hi-Temp) Magnum + Wool, 50/50 Wool

DA (Porter Cable)

XMT 3, LC Orange
XMT 2, LC White, LC Orange

I have tried several panels with one of the above combos and I am still reluctant to get anything out, what direction do you guys suggest. I haven't been using a rotary for a long time (6-8 months w/ a teacher though) but i have been able to take swirls out on other cars. I have heard that Ford paint tends to be hard could this be the issue? I will also try to upload some pics soon and maybe you all could point me in a general direction.

Seems like you need to still step it up a notch Megs 105/PWF Megs 205 Black menz 85rd blue pad .Or SIP on a white Kompressor pad 106FA black pad .Seems like all the products your using isn't cutting no pun intended. And that's with a rotary i try to use my rotary more then my pc.Use the pc for sealants and wax.

Well, after seeing and hearing about 105/205 i guess ill give it a whirl. I just figured i could get around using what i have now, which works well on every other car i do (friends/family), but i am reluctant to get any swirls out on my own car.

Second note i really have no taste for my PC any more, I try to only use it for sealants/waxes like you said but pulled it out just to try since XMT says on the bottle to use with DA. I already have bad wrists and my PC only makes it worse.

So saying I go with the 105/205 and grab a bottle of #26 should i also pick up #85, or maybe #84?

And Lastly since hearing good things about Menzerna also, I figure I should grab a bottle of Power Gloss and Super Intensive/Intensive. I hear they are supposed to be good for hard paints (which i believe mine is) so this should definitely tackle my needs.

thanks again

I just did that same car and had to use M105 and a full wool pad. It took numerous passes to remove the defects. I had a few hours just in the hood to make it perfect.

yeah well i have been battling it for a 6 months now and both me and my friend who has detailed for quite some time can't ever get it to come out. I was hesitant about the 105, just from hearing its so aggressive and figured i wouldn't need something like that, well forget that.

By the way what do you think of #85, #84 or even #95?

Use M105, you will be fine and probably the only thing that will remove the defects. The only rpoducts I use from Megs is #3, M105 for defects, and M205 once in awhile-just isn't a very good finishing polish but does a nice job on medium defects, just has to be followed up with 85rd or Ultrafina. Where are you located?

Thanks Asphalt, ill try and grab some m105 sometime in the coming weeks.

I am located down St Pete, FL
