This vehicle was full of rids, holograms and swirls. The owner said it looked great when he first purchased it and then thought his washing technique was bad since he kept seeing more and more swirls and scratches. Well after looking at the vehicle it was obvious that someone did a nice glaze job for the sale of the vehicle. After a few days of paint correction it was brought back to the way it should look.

I used the following products during the detail. Fein rotary, Kompressor and ccs pads, Megs 105 and 205, Ultrafina, Blackfire Wet Diamond, various wheel brushes, P21s wheel gel, P21s TAW, Solvent, Riccardo clay, PakShak WW's and microfibers.

Note: You will notice the that the wheel barrels have spots in them, they are stained from whomever detailed the vehicle the first time. I went as far as soaking the spots with solvent and it would not remove them.

Here are is what I started with.

After washing the wheels there was some pretty bad brake dust etching for a vehicle with only 8500 miles on it.

Now on to the finished product.

Beautiful work there. That Z06 is looking real good.

I think you missed some spots. :dblthumb2:

WOW that looks GREAT! I am amazed you managed to get that much correction with a foam pad on a vette. I seem to have better luck when I get one that bad with a PFW pad and M105. How many total buffing steps did that one take you?

Also wanted to ask...what camera are you using and how are you able to get perfect sun spots like that without over loading the focus and light intake on the camera? I can never seem to manage that perfect sunspot with my D50.

Absolutely gorgeous coach!!!! WOW that thing is absolutely beeeeuuuutifuuuul!! thats why you are the rotary master!! I am sure you got paid some serious coin for that job, and the owner was more than happy to pay it too!!!

PS: did you get my pm about the "98" vette?? Send me any input that you may have...

Did you not finish with wool coach? I could of swore I read some where that it will finish awesome! (especially on black)...

Just WOW... Great work man... The clarity in the reflections was Awe inspiring... Inspiring me enough to go out and "Practice" some more with the rotary... and my Practice i really mean to induce as many possible halograms on top of each other with each step as I go until I throw my Makita in the woods and pour my 105 in the toilet!

Seriously though :dblthumb2: :applause: and even :urtheman:

Awesome work Dana, I'm sure he was extremely excited when he saw it..

LOL!, Thanks Jon, I probably did.

First, thanks you very much. Now do not take this the wrong way but it is all about technique with the products that you are using. I have used wool on plenty of vettes but I got away with not having to use it this time. I have a red one I need to post and didn't use wool on it. Total steps were three.

I use a Nikon point and shoot. I aim the camera and whatever picture it takes is what you see in my threads. Once again when I post the red vette you will see my problems with red with my point shoot.

Thanks tad, I did, plus he was so happy he gave me $150.00 tip. Yes I did, sorry for the late response.:dblthumb2:

Exemplary finish! Looks almost exactly like your avatar. :)

Thanks, appreciate the kind words.

Well, I didn't want to let my secret our but you caught me. All I used was a 3M wool pad and the old version of M105 and there you go. Just don't tell anyone Tad.:dblthumb2:

Thanks Chris and quit your whining and just keeping practicing and you will be just fine.

Very Nice Dana! :dblthumb2:

Thanks Corey.

I could never take it the wrong way. I have seen all your work and the ability you have to finish down with a rotary is nothing short of impressive. I have just never had any luck with cutting with Foam Pads on vettes and I guess that involves the technique you were using! :dblthumb2:

Beautiful work as usual! I love this picture - it looks insanely wet!

Just plant fantastic correction and finish as always from you Dana... You must have been sweating your huevos on during this job!

Great work Dana. You really have an intense level of polishing to try to match up to man.

If you have a Nikon D50, look at exposure compensation, it should have it. You will need to be in P mode, trying taking the pictures with a -2.0 or -2.3.. see what that gets ya.
