07' Dodge Ram

Man, between the both of you I'm thinking I need to call out sick for the next few days! My GG polisher/pads/etc.. will be here sometime this afternoon. Of course I work this afternoon so . . . *cough cough* I think I'm coming down with something.

AdrenalineJunky - how long of a process did it take you? Did you split into multiple days?

JonMiles - regarding the IPA, I can understand using it after the M105/205 process (each), but what about after M21 (sealant) before wax? Is it needed or would just a regular MF wipeoff be sufficient?

Good job to the both of you on excellent trucks. My 06 Ram is begging for this treatment. The other forum I'm apart of for my truck is anxious to see the results too!

Do the IPA wipe downs after each of the polishing steps, but do NOT do it after you apply your sealant (IPA will remove sealants and waxes). Follow the directions for the particular sealant you are using. If it is a sealant that requires removal, then do so with a soft MF only. Generally allow 12 hours to cure, then apply wax if so desired.

That's what I thought, but just wanted to be sure. Thank you. My box arrived today about 10 minutes before I had to leave for work and as it is 11pm I just got home it's still sitting downstairs. I figured if I rush into this I'll just end up making more of a mess than I want to deal with. It's like Christmas time, you want it to get here so bad, but then when it's here you want it to go nice and SLOW!

You should not do an IPA wipe down after 21 or any other lsp, it will remove the protection just like a dawn wash. Just use a good mf towel to remove the residue from 21 and then top with nuba.

I started in the middle of the afternoon and worked until around 12am. By then I only had to apply wax, take off the tape, detail/finish. This was my first time doing any buffing to any vehicle, so I'm sure more experienced buffers could do it more efficiently.

Which truck forums do you belong to? I would be interested to hear about your experience when you buff your truck, let me know.

I waited almost a month after I received all of my supplies before I started my project. I was waiting to have full access of a friends garage. In the meantime it allowed me to pickup tips and learn from forum members. With the size of our trucks it does take a good deal of time and effort to cover the basic techniques.
