I have been seeing a lot of posts on what type of mini polishers (DA or Rotary) are out there or which ones are the best.
So what I have done was adapt my PC7424XP and my Flex PE8 to tackle ALL jobs with a 3" or less compound/polish detail.
I have attched photos to show you how it is done and how you can make any PC, GG 6", Megs or any other compatible DA that accepts Lake Country or equivalent backing plates.
IMO, I have covered the best of both worlds. I was initially hesitant for "holograms" from using the PE8. I found out that was not the case as soon I learned how to master the technique and IMO it is one of the best 3" polishers out there.
I did not consider the Mini Rupes as I did not want to change types of pads and I knew it will not go to 1" Pads. Additionally, I wanted to utilize my PC7424XP and I also felt it still has a major purpose in my detailing arsenal. So I am not bashing the Rupes Mini!! IMO I think it is a great DA even though I have never used it.
So I hope these pics will show you how I covered the best of both worlds when it comes to the 1, 2 & 3" Polishers world.
