Somehow I missed this bird dropping on my hood and of course after seeing it "this is going to leave a mark"

Hit it with M105 and sure enough it had etched into the clear coat.

I cut a small piece off a 3M Trizact 3000 sanding pad backed with a small piece of cardboard. Fresh water in a spray bottle then with gentle pressure I sanded out the etching. This step took less than a minute with just a small amount of water. Hand rubbed the 3000 marks out with M105, SF4500 then Blacklight. It took longer waiting on the blacklight to haze/bond than the repair itself. No need brake out the buffer or having to wash a pad. Then topped with the usual products used earlier on the truck.

P3000 > M105 > Menzerna SF4500 > CG Blacklight > CG V7 > Souveran Liquid Wax

Great save. I love your garage to btw. If my garage/man cave was as plush as yours, my wife would divorce me because she'd never see me!

did u soak the 3000 grit paper for long or just used the water from the spray bottle?

The 3M Trizact P3000 isn't a sandpaper product. It's more of a rubbery like 1/4" thick abrasive pad. So much nicer to use than the traditional wet/dry sandpaper.

So to answer your question... no I didn't soak the product and just used a small amount of water from the spray bottle.

Both your detail studio and hand craft skills are awesome ^^

Thanks poop repair is my specialty :D

Started out as a raw building to shoot cars in on the side, when I was about 35. Fifteen or so years later decided to insulate and drywall. Then it was AC/Heat, then the bar, then...
