100Degrees & "New" Optimum Product's (Lot's O' Pic's)

Nice work, looks awesome! :props:

Question? Was the temperature in the garage the same as the outside temps? I ask because I know lots of folks have A/C and/or heated garages.

Thank you, not that expensive either:D
Your welcome.

Nice work, looks great Chris!! :xyxthumbs:
Thank You Corey :)

I had my garage door open that day (no garage AC,yet) but,the temp's outside were not much better (high 90's).

Bump for great review!
Compound II has replaced M105 for me, no looking back!

I'd love to try some of the new products. However, I'm quite a bit hesitant to try any because of the lack of shelf life on previous Optimum products. Has the shelf life been increased to last as long as my Mothers and Meguiar's products?

I keep all my OPT polishes in the shop and have yet to have a mold problem.I wonder if the humidity has anything to do with it thou?
You can always purchase the smaller bottles.

:bump2: Hoping Chris can comment on this.

Purchasing smaller bottles is always an option. However, the previous problems are serious concerns I've seen by many. I mean, if you bought it by the quart or even the gallon, as many detailers do, then it seems you better plan on only using optimum products or it will go bad. Meanwhile the Meguiar's products can sit and wait, then still be used later on down the road.

I'm not knocking Optimum, rather, I'm expressing that I would like to be able to purchase even the small bottles, but I'm almost afraid of wasting my money because I have quarts of two other products with long shelf life, and I'm not really that busy right now.

I'm hoping the issue has been resolved so I can purchase without fear of throwing my money away. I'd like to use them simply to match my products when using opti-coat/guard.

The current shelf lifes are greater than the past versions, but you still shouldn't buy stuff you can't use up in 2 years or so. A better reason to only buy what you need, is staying in the good graces of the Mrs. and not getting pissed when we launch an new formula and you still have half a gallon of the old.

Chris,
I can assure you my only intent was to ask questions about concerns.

I hope you weren't assuming that I'm upset (see your description...because I'm not) about Optimum products launching a new formula and still having older product left. I'd have to own some of it to fit that category.

Actually, I was basing my comments on the many disappointed folks who've posted their concerns not only on this forum, but others. I've also heard many good things about Optimum. However, from an outsider looking in, meaning having never purchased any Optimum polishes or compounds to try for myself, I've been skeptical in even considering the smaller bottles because of the issues I mentioned. Hopefully that's not too much to ask of a manufacturer.

That said, I own opti-guard, optimum spray wax, and optimum power clean, and I'm delighted about them. Please don't lump me in with some group of optimum compound and polish haters/badgers because I have no complaints...only questions and concerns. It only makes sense that to complain about them I'd have to own them. Right? My intent was only to address things I'd read about.

If I misunderstood what you were trying to say, then there's no issue.

Can you clarify who you were directing that comment to? (The bold "you" in your quote above.) I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and say that your comments were probably meant to read like this, "A better reason to only buy what is needed..."

The way I read it was the You that is bold is meant to be a general discription of all people. He is saying people should not buy to much product for the reasons he gave. I don't feel it was directed at any one person. It didn't even cross my mind until you ask about it.
I'm guilty of buying too much product, I just hope I can keep it stored correctly so it will last. Like I just bought the Hyper polish on BOGO, it will take me a while to use it up, maybe I'll have to trade one?

I was replying to your post, but my reply was wasn't directed at you...and I was trying to be funny by adding the part about keeping the Mrs happy. Tone is lost in text, but I didn't think your were upset and I didn't mean to come off as defensive. The post 2010 version will not have the separation nor the mold issue and if you just don't like the performance, we have a satisfaction guarantee...if returned in a reasonable length of time.

how much product would I need if I'm doing three mid-size sedans and one suv one or twice a year?

The quart would last a couple of years with that volume. A couple of 8 oz would be plenty.

You're correct that's exactly how I meant it. I often hear frustrations over getting stuck with the old versions and separation of some of the older polishes so it was just a recommendation. I don't want to dissuade people from taking advantage of the BOGOs, but that stuff is on sale for a reason. They're usually making room for a new release or moving stuff that's been stored for awhile. So I would expect some settling and such.

hey chris is there new decon products comeing out soon from optimum?

Thanks for the reply Chris. No harm, no foul.

I wouldn't mind trying a few smaller bottles of the products in review. I like the idea of no dusting and longer work times.

As for the bogo tip...thanks!

It looks like Optimum continues to be innovative and successful. Superb review of some amazing products!! :props:

You just got to love a rotary!! :props:

I'm from Memphis and wanted to see Optimum HQ. ???? LOL, they are located in a crime-ridden part of town--downtown. Is that just a warehouse, or a blending/factory area.
Memphis is nothing but warehouses, why on Cleveland st.? Any truth to the fact that Huey Chemicals is the blender?

I don't understand why this even matters (wether truth or not)?
The point of the thread is to show how well the products work.
If the OPT warehouse is in a not so nice part of Memphis or in 5th Avenue in New York, how does that determine how well their products work?

Very well said buddy!

I also have the same issue with poli-seal separating and smelling awful!

opti-coat seringue jaming/sticking.

Optimum compound II staining yourtr pad

Optimum microfiber pad supposed to be tought for rotary use, loose all his clue after 2 uses.

the only product I'm happy with is ONR and opti-coat when I don't loose 10cc on the floor because of the jammed seringue.
